QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rahim Zairatwal has said that fiscal budget for year 2014-15 would be presented on Thursday (today), with a total volume of Rs 230 billion.
Ziaratwal, who is also parliamentary leader of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), told media that the development budget will consist 45% of the total outlay while 25% would be allocated for education.
“Education, production and law and order would be given priority,” he said, and added that as many as 4,000 jobs would be created. He said salaries of government employees will be raised by 10%. Zairatwal said the budget would pro-poor and has been shaped keeping in view the needs of the masses.
He said that by utilizing the development budget, the social and economic conditions of the masses would be improved. He said agriculture, livestock, fisheries and other production sectors will be preferred. He said that the issue of power shortage would also be addressed in collaboration with the federal government. The minister said that funds have been allocated for Chashma-Zhob transmission line besides improvement of overall infrastructure in the province.
