Balochistan Great Game Alarms Sirens

So it is deep and close to oil. So what? How does that translate into anything tangibly advantageous?

Are you saying that huge oil tankers will berth there to off load oil? Where will this oil go next?

its advantage is for Afghanistan, central asia and china.
also being a deep port it can act as mother port feeding smaller ports in the region. then there are maintenance stops besides these. its always a bonus to be near highest used route

None of that is anywhere close to the reality of modern bulk carriers and shipping routes.

One of the main reasons India is quite comfortable with the status quo is that most useful lands and water sources of the state are in our possession. Any route through the karakorum range would be prohibitively expensive and unreliable because of the terrain and weather there. If the news of landslides, avalanches and severe weather causing deaths/delays are not enough for you, travel near the karakorums and you would understand. This region historically acted like a huge wall/barrier for the plains of northern subcontinent... there is a reason for that. Fortunately (for us) or unfortunately, technology has not yet advanced far enough to change that substantively. The planners on our side are thus at relative ease and happy with playing the waiting game.

Pakistan wants a second port away from Indian range. For China connecting its western provinces to sea through Pakistan will require a shorter route, so they are interested. Thats all there is to Gwadar. Doesnt mean much to anyone else but Pakistanis will find a conspiracy anywhere.

.
It feels good that Indians show so much concern for us. They are so much worried about our assets and their utilization. Although it has nothing to do with them, but nevertheless they will still meddle in others affairs.
So nice of them.

Yes Gwadar has nothing to do with us. It is between Baloch people and Pakistanis.

However Indians are commenting on the route to China which goes through occupied Gilgit Baltistan, which according to UN resolutions does concern us very much (being a part of former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir). It is a disputed territory, which India claims in full, so it has everything to do with us actually, just as Pakistan likes to claim Indian administered J&K has something to do with them. Don't be a hypocrite dear.

LOL. Indians should not talk about UN resolutions. What about the Kashmir UN resolution which you guys are too scared to implement.
Amazing whatever suits you is fine, otherwise just ignore the rest. Hypocrisy at its best.

I agree, we need to implement UN resolution. Now go read it. Pakistan is the singular roadblock by not fulfilling prerequisites of removing all foreign Pakistani soldiers and citizens from Pakistan occupied Gilgit Baltistan/Kashmir. India can keep a residual presence of soldiers according to resolution. Then plebiscite takes place. Go on tell your government. We're waiting. :coffee:

To cut the crap that Indians here are pouring by litres, Gwadar is a natural deep sea port. It has the capacity to dock big ships that Karachi or Port Qasim cant accommodate. Also, if the there is a transit available to China, with its ever expanding economy and its desire for market access, Gwadar provides the shortest route to Persian Gulf and onwards to Europe.

Evaporate :D

1) Gwadar being a deep sea port has the inherent capability of handling VLCCs and ULCCs, hence it would be among a few ports that can do it. BTW, Gwadar is being developed on these lines.

2) Coupled with the above, Gwadar would be a 'trans-shipment port' (google the diffrences).

3) Important of all, Gwadar is sitting at the perfect place to block Indian SLOCs right from the home base.

Cold Start, Son of Cold Start, what next? :azn:

Hes going to arms afghanis with nukes... thts karan Looose-motions for you...

Only Pakistanis claim that Indians claim to be a "suppa powwa". I am yet to meet an Indian in real life or on here who claims India to be a super power.
