They aren't driving pilgrims around... There is a saying "Dandam dasa gunam".. lathi makes everyone behave... what would have happened without lathi is anyone's guess...

The JnK tourism board hires people to help pilgrims. They are paid to do so. They are driven by economic benefit primarily. The media tries to find positive stories about Kashmir and latches on to this.

Pilgrims are under protected. There is almost no Army presence in the valley. Only the Armed police and CRPF are present - grossly inadequate for the task.

its hilarious you are expecting tourists visiting IOK during such violent protests and more hilarious is that CRPF has no authority then who is practicing public safety act "a detainee may be held in administrative detention for a maximum of two years without a court order" which has resulted in disappearance of people in IOK

It is not the excess usage, it is the "maximum restraint" that is causing it. if lathi was used appropriately, these people who are throwing stones would be doing some work that is useful to humanity and themselves. Please go through the links and read what happened and how many hindus/sikhs were killed by many burhan wanis when lathi was weak..

there has been an excess use of force in IOK since 1947 how has it worked for you guys has it changed the hostilities between Indian govt and Kashmiri people or has it created affection for India in heart of Kashmiri people.
why dont you use the same lathi on RSS and make them do something useful rather than spitting venom.
