First India does not have the capacity to make Vietnam as its pawn. Vietnam has far more to loose by loosing China. in 2010 they imported 20 billion dollar fom China exported 7 billion to it. Besides China does not wish to make vietnama as its proxy whereas India is constantly trying to make BD the same. Even a single hardwre that BD army buys makes a news in Indian Media.

Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh clearly said China is not constructing any dam obstructing river flow. He reiterated that China will not do anything that harm interest of lower riparian country including Bangladesh. Please read the report in Bangla

Indians made plenty clear that they are out to curtail and contain Bangladesh relation with China. Tone by Indian officials, media and posts by Indians are in same tune – they like to see Bangladesh take anti China stand by rejecting friendly and generous Chinese gesture. Awami regime is following Indian instruction - looking for excuses to stop the deep sea port project is proof enough. I hope Bangladeshis will not pay attention to Indian propaganda and see facts.

Well to this specific post ....an apt suggestion .. U need to consider how India is positioned around BD and also need to play this policy very carefully. Last thing BD wants is pit two larger countries to lock horns.
BD will be stuck between a rock and a hard place and all 3 parties will lose.

2ndly about Vietnam ;well that will be a blunder ...do not bring Vietnam in parity with BD tht will seriously annoy ur Chinese allies..
This move would state that somehow Chinese should except that Vietnam is working in there own water ...similar to BD ......big blunder for BD tho innocent and correct .

Bangladesh does not want a war between china and india. There is a common saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Having a closer ties with china will ensure that our national secutiry wont be threatened by india.

Of-course, the Cold War ended over 20 years ago. Hell, we established relations with China way before that! They have been our largest supplier of military equipment for a long time.
