Lectures on economy today, tomorrow open heart surgery performed by COAS. It's becoming Kimistan.

When u have a finance minister as good as Munshi Dar, who is going to give a lecture on economy, Abid Sher ali can do that ?

no doubt dar is very corrupt person but he is qualified chartered Accountant and has knowledge of economy but after knowing every thing he enter in to wrong decisions due to corruption.

The rich, judges, filthy rich business men, bureaucrats, stars & etc should pay more taxes. Of course everybody is identifiable & no one is hidden, but the corrupt government continue to favour their favourites & crush the poor.

Fraud can be prevented by hanging corrupt people like china does.we have best professional bodies in the world like ICAP which develop high quality auditors who can monitor fraud and non compliance .the only thing is strengthening the audit and other monitoring process and law.panama is realestate and not a production industry like china so my view is about industry.I have not suggested 100% tax free heavens in Pakistan but we should start with low tax rates and gradually increase it as industry grow and their revenue increase so that paying high tax not demotivate them.I agree with providing training and increasing skill of our labor which requires changes in our educational system and advertisements.our labor is also working in middle east and Europe so this can be easily achieved
Well you just indirectly accepted that what i said was correct. Pakistan income tax rates are still quite marginal but the reality is that you can make Pakistan a tax haven but that will still not bring you businesses, because of all the things i mentioned in my previous post. The most you will get is fraudulent companies that are used hide wealth just like Cayman islands and Panama.

So if you want a thriving economy, you need to provide the main things that i mentioned previously and i will list them again below

1. Educated and Skilled Labour force
2. Proper Infrastructure which include physical and service based.
3. Ease of Business and removal of Red Tapes.
4. Security.

I will add another thing here that also has an impact on the decision of a business choosing which country to invest in, and that is "Image". Other countries spend alot on trying to improve their image so as to attract business to invest there. Why would anyone want to invest in a country that all you hear about is negative things. This is where Korea and Singapore have done splendidly.

PMLN is the puppet of establishment has always been

PMLN policies of quashing other political parties like MQM, PPP and politicians of balochistan and enacting anti terror laws, NAP, enacting anti terror courts has led to army interfering in civil governance

when ever PMLN comes to power, the establishment comes to power

one cannot also simply trust establishment that in the garb of zarb e azb operation, karachi operation, falan dhanka operations, it doesnt try to overtake the governance in pakistan, more thn half of country karachi, balochistan, FATA are under army rule effectively where civilians are only puppets of establishment.

all these operations are because civilians failed and this was big opportunity for establishment to take the lead and take over

all operations have failed including zarb e azb, karachi ops, terrorists are free and being included in politics but establishment has effectively taken control of civilian rule

its about time, nawaz flees to jaddah or london like last time

And I'm still trying to find a single bit of logic in all the text you wrote here ...

Seriously wtf did we achieve by this dick measuring contest between the politicians and the army. Its obvious the army won , everyone knows army holds the power. But these things will have dire consequences and we are already seeing the aftershocks. 1. Economy is failing
2. Security situtaion in balochistan is deteriorating irrespective of what the army tell us because they always lie.
3. Remittances are drying out
4. Foreign investment is decreasing
5. Ik is going nuts again with dharna bullshit when the stock exchange is crashing.
6. The army chief who is no one to comment on economy is indirectly hitting at the government. People who say it was a seminar that is why he spoke of economy, should undertsand that the chief should refrain from these kind of statements when instability is at its peak and politicians are trying to stir shit up.
6. Political instability is a real reality and civil war is a reality too.
The army and the politicians have to sit down and sort out their shit. Pakistan is before corruption. In all this power struggle and stupid corruption claims we may not have a country in the future. Everyone has their own agenda wether it is the army or polictians but they need to calm the fook down and do their own work.
typical noonie are you an Indian or pakistani cant see the difference

.
So was the Army ever able to tackle corruption during long periods of Martial Law, or not? If not, for whatever reasons, how can we expect the politicians to be able to do it either?
Because army eat billions in corruption also.

Bring Cantonment Board under Provincial and You have your Taxation 2x times..
yeah so that cantonments can be destroyed too.

Why is this wannabe Tyrant preaching taxation to the Government? He should focus on his job, making sure foreign drones are not launching bombing missions (429 so far) over Pakistan. I mean what does this wannabe Tyrant get paid for exactly, preaching?

Since we're on the subject, how come 36-years of Tyrannical military-rule did not manage to increase taxation to more than 1%.? What were the five tyrants doing subsiding everything leading to Pakistan's internal debt increasing to breaking point (which the civilian Governments then had to reduce by going to international banks)?
yeah you are right better to have civilian tyrants who have destroyed the economy of the country and mounted huge debt on Pakistan.

DG ISPR and now COAS is playing into the hands of Politicians very badly . they want them to say such things (Quite Idiotic from Generals Mouth) and they have said it , Alas now the right to answer lies with Corrupt politicians . e.g a simple question over efficiency of armed forces can be discussed in light of recent development Pak is facing huge losses on Eastern front (regardless of what is being reported) so ,Man i wish COAS hadn't made such comments as against the efficiency part of many armed forces governed organizations are very low

e.g FFC performance even with constant gas supplies as well as subsidiaries still the gross profits are going down

What a wonderful parallel you've drawn!

A bankrupt government is unable to pay the running of an army ... did that just go a miss? Forgot what happened to Greece?

General Baja fails to understand that Pakistani currency is not an international reserve and increasing local tax base has no impact on accumulated forex reserve. To break the begging bowl one must expand exports and reduce local taxes to become more competitive in export markets.

Poor tax collection has a direct impact on the payment to the employees of state (& that includes Army).

Looks like time for bonuses...someone should ask him when is operation rad al DHA coming?

Try explaining that to the LUMS / IBA and Kakul graduates. In a first, from your cue, soon you'll have Majors and above applying differential equations to elasticities to derive optimal A B C & D.......

On topic, from cereals to cement to fertilisers, and de facto control over A to Z, what else is required of this poor nation?
