Bajrang Dal to launch ‘bahu laao, beti bachao’ in February
AGRA: After much hyped 'ghar wapsi', now Bajrang Dal is all set to launch "bahu laao, beti bachao abhiyan" in Agra. The right wing outfit plans to launch the campaign from the second week of February across Uttar Pradesh.
Under the programme, the Hindutva outfit's members will visit girls' colleges to create awareness about 'love jihad'. Members will also approach mothers of marriageable Hindu men in order to persuade them to marry off their sons to Muslim or Christian girls willing to marry into Hindu families.
Talking to TOI, Avneendra Pratap Singh alias Ajju Chauhan, state co-convener of Bajrang Dal, said the "bahu laao, beti bachao" campaign is aimed at stemming the "love jihad" campaign by Muslims in the country. The aim of the campaign is to save Hindu girls from "falling into the trap" of "love jihadis".
It is also aimed at making Muslim or Christian girls daughters-in-law in Hindu households so that they can learn the rich cultural and traditional values of Hinduism. (?????)
Bajrang Dal members reasoned that they were not doing anything wrong by introducing "bahu laao, beti bachao" campaign as they were not going to force anyone into marriage but will try to save girls.
"In love jihad, Muslim youths marry Hindu girls pretending to be Hindus for which they get funded by different organizations from Pakistan and other Islamic countries. But, in 'bahu laao, beti bachao' campaign, we will neither ask Hindu youths to cheat girls nor provide them any money to win over girls of other communities," said Ajju Chauhan.
He elaborated under 'bahu Laao' programme, the right wing members will convince and motivate the mothers of Hindu boys to get their sons married to Muslim or Christian girls so that the latter can embrace Hindu religion. As far as 'beti bachao' is concerned, they will create awareness among Hindu families to protect their daughter from falling in love or getting married to Muslim or Christian boys.

The Bajrang Dal members have started identifying girls at inter and degree colleges in Braj Mandal to organize awareness campaigns there. The campaigns will include slide shows displaying effects of "love jihad. Apart from slide shows, banners and posters will be put up near education institutions to sensitize masses.
Sunil Parashar, Prant Gau (cow) Raksha pramukh, an offshoot of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), said Bajrang Dal will provide protection to couples if the boy is a Hindu and girl of another religion from their respective families if they oppose such marriages.
"RSS and Bajrang Dal have collectively saved some 70 Hindu girls from 'love jihad' in Braj Mandal in the past five years. We also helped some 30 Muslim and Christian girls marry Hindu boys on their own free will. This time, the campaign will be open and our aim to save girls, whether she is a Hindu or from any other community," added Parashar.
