It would Dr Sahib please save my loved one. Many years ago I used to go to this grocery shop owned by a mullah type of guy. Everytime I would go there I would end up talking about politcs and religion. One day the subject moved to birth control. He vehemently argued that it was haram because you were going against Allah's will. When I pointed out that NHS by it's very definition tried to obstruct natures course. If a person got cancer it tried to cure him. If a person could not walk properly NHS tried to surgically reconfigure the patients natural state. But he would not have it.

Few months later my kid was born premature and of course was kept in the special baby unit which has incubators. As soon as you walk into the SBU everything is so artifical. You see these tiny babies inside these plastic bubbles being fed oxygen and food through tubes with temperature controlled by computers. Lo behold I saw the same guy there with his child. Some months later I made the point that birth control and SBU are two sides of the same coin. How was it haram to use birth control but halal to use incubators when if natural order was followed all those babies would be dead.

Good point. Morality be it informed by religion or other historical or secular construct plays the vital role in any countries laws. China is a athiest state but it's laws are still embeded in morality only these are flux from Marxism and traditional Chinese thought. The main differance as you pointed out there is less crude dogma but more refined and sophisticated thinking which is also not tied down - it is continously evolving over the generations.

Let us see what IK can actually achieve in view of what you have described above. He has a five year term for now, may be more if he starts delivering results.
