What? Terrorists are well and truly losing. They have lost around 90% of their territory, hence their relocation to Afghanistan. Most of their major attacks are now being linked to terrorists hiding in Afghanistan. Although it is true they are getting support from within, but the first part of winning this war was to take back occupied Pakistani land from these terrorists. I agree more needs to be done in clamping down on their supporters, facilitators and suppliers within Pakistan, and as long as these cells continue to operate, there will be more attacks. But that does NOT mean they are winning. It is now a matter of choking their supply of recruits and enablers within Pakistan through counter insurgency operations within Cities and Towns. We do have to look at certain religious figures who are enabling these terrorists by providng ideological cover, which is why it is essential that all madrassahs etc are brought under state control. The moment you let a Mullah free without control, they start day dreaming about forming their own "Emirates".

What Pakistan has done successfully so far is that Pakistan has successfully defeated the small fishes but all the big fishes have escaped into Afghanistan & are calmly sitting in the laps of their facilitators & financiers (Afghanistan, India & US). Also Pakistan has failed to seal the borders which has resulted in cross border terrorism from Afghanistan side over & over again. It may be difficult to fence the border but mining the border from head to toe & that to heavily is not impossible also I don't know why PA is not willing to use Armed drones to monitor the illegal activity on the border. It does not end here, the worse part is nothing has been done to deport the Afghan refugees from Pakistan which is a open recruiting ground for foreign agencies.

Everything needs to be systematically & hard steps need to be taken, but if nothing is done then terrorism against Pakistan will continue.

Sir, it's no secret that terror incident over all have declined. But the intensity and the sheer brutality of terror is still the same or has increased depending on how one looks at it.

APS is by far the deadliest attack ever and came after zaib e azb was launched. Pre zaib e azb there was indiscriminate bombings of civilians which was hurtful. And grenade attacks at closed schools to deter parents from sending their children for education. Now they're targeting kids as they're in schools and blatantly vowing more. And these attacks are deadlier and hurtful to another degree.

Day before a girls schools reported threatening graffiti on its walls telling them to close it down or they will be bombed. This is a parents nightmare. How can they send their beautiful child to school under these circumstances.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Asim Bajwa on Wednesday said major breakthroughs had been made in identifying the terrorists who attacked the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda earlier in the day, reported Dawn news. The ISPR chief said the terrorists' phone calls had been traced and analysed, and that two cell phones had also been recovered from them. "When army reached the premises, all four attackers were alive. They were contained in the hostel and were eventually eliminated on the roof and the stairs," informed the ISPR chief. They had a lot of ammo, including grenades, he added. "Their call logs were analysed and an intelligence picture was established, with most data having been collected," said Lt Gen Bajwa. The carnage in Charsadda may not be on the scale of the Army Public School attack, but the intentions were the same — to deliberately, monstrously and wretchedly strike at the most vulnerable and to spread anger and fear far and wide. They must not be allowed to win. A greater resolve exists — that of the Pakistani people and the state that represents them — and it will prevail against the banned TTP. But there should be no illusions. This is a long war. It will not be won in a month or a year. It will be many years before Pakistan can truly be rid of the militant curse. But that reality does not mean immediate steps cannot be taken. Quite simply, the time has come for Pakistan to stop merely talking about better border management and demanding the eradication of militant safe havens in Afghanistan, and get serious work done on both fronts. The response by the security forces deserves praise, but the same cannot be said about the country’s security apparatus. The successful attack on the Bacha Khan University means that, despite claims to the contrary by the government and military, the operational ability of terrorists has not been damaged by the ongoing military operation against them. While condemnations have poured in from many in the government, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and with Army Chief Raheel Sharif visiting the site of terror, it is also clear that the government cannot guarantee the safety of our educational institutions. Attacking an event marking the legacy of Bacha Khan seems to also be an attempt to mock the non-violent legacy of the Pakhtun leader. The attack must be taken with the seriousness and commitment that the APS Peshawar attack was seen as. As schools were shut down in KP in view of the security threat and people took their children home, we must question how long we can continue to live like this. We have heard the rhetoric of a ‘fight back’ at all costs. But do we have a guarantee of eventual success? Are we hitting at the roots of extremism or is it growing in our country even as songs are sung and slogans raised? How many lives must be lost before we realise that there is something very wrong with the way we are dealing with out terrorism problem. The impunity that some extremist groups have is compounded with the fact that little real action has been taken to identify the root causes of our terror threat. How many more chemistry teachers are to die saving their students? How many children are we to sacrifice before history and politics teach us which way salvation lies? .

we can definitely handle them in a better way if Politicians don't put hurdles in the implementation of National action plan and our prosecution is effective and justice is not delayed.

our foreign relations and policy is dismal.. we get lectures from others to do more and apologise for everything that happens elsewhere but we cant say the same about the TTP and BLA terrorists that openly mock us from across the border announcing more attacks. military is doing its job but it needs backup from police and civil administration and the society.

Just try reading on remarks of Sindh Government representatives when a ten month old child was killed just because she could not make it to the hospital, reason being Bilawal Zaradri was there to inaugurate some non functioning unit........ you will realise how these families think about peasants, just add electricity shortage, gas shortage, drinking water shortage, thefts, snatching, rapes, kidnapping, injustice, incompetent police harassing citizens, corrupt judges who will sell their soul for a bottle of drink or a girl, masters and graduates' only employment being a yellow or black cab, manipulation and exploitation in a shameful way, social and financial injustice and incidents like APS and Bacha Khan ......................... add all these and many others to the list and calculate the response. This country is for Bilawal Zardari (without holding any government position he enjoys state protection at cost of my tax money), it is for Mariam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz they inherited businesses worth billions when every other Pakistan was running low on purchasing power they were making billions, this country is for peers, chaudhries, sardars, and their sh*t offspring like Jatois who can kill another young person like hunting some animal and make victory gestures in court.

I would love to see NS, Zardari, Mulla Fazalullah, and their accomplices heads on pikes outside their respective palaces. And I do believe times will change, just a major event that will trigger it. Evil doesnt last forever and giving up hope only helps it.
