I think the major improvement is that if gps is jammed, it can still carry own with mission using internal navigation and evasion systems.

That's actually a major improvement, means less moving internal parts like hydraulics and motors to control drop down air intake thus resulting in lighter weight with greater range...

Please keep in mind first sub version was tested to 450 km but does not mean it’s max range is 450 ?? A little bit confusion not that it make much difference if it’s being used for non conventional vs conventional

Here's the potential improvement:
National Air and Space Intelligence Center of USAF in 2013 assessed Babur's range as 350 km. It has certainly improved from that through the years and now probably stands at 700 km.
