Indian public including me like ordinary people respect and like Pakistan cricket players. Even our regular times, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, and of course who can forget Imran Khan was hugely popular amongst the Indian public and specifically amongst Indians who are non-Muslims too. If you realize many Pakistan players participate in Bollywood and other media interactions in India which is warmly welcomed here. So think for a moment, if you really hate so much about a nation and its people, how can you entertain their primary players in your own entertainment industry? And I am sure, even within Pakistan there are a good number of people who like Indian people too..

That does mean, lunatics do not exist within India...We are f**ing 150 crore people...So there will be at least thousands of lunatics existing in India too...But that does not mean, that if Babar Azam goes to a shopping mall in Hyderabad or Ahmedabad, then people will start abusing him. Rather Indian people and fanboys will be in a queue to take pics of Babar Azam...

So this is the simple explanation that can be shared by me. Recently, I went to the MLC league in Dallas. One of my major attractions was to see how Imdad Washim was playing so that I could see him bowling closely.

We welcome Pakistan players with open hearts to come and play for the people of India like me, who would India and Pakistan to start playing cricket in India and Pakistan respectively.



That is true. I think, one of the major reasons our team has the upper hand is due to the mindset and attitude of our players who handle the stress and pressure of playing Pakistan in better ways.

This is a new mania. I was in Goa last month, doing a dolphin boat ride. There was a family from UP, about 10 of them, and they kept shouting jai shree ram throughout the boat ride. Whenever another boat passed them, they would shout "jai shree ram bolna hi hoga". And the people from the other boat would shout 'jai shree ram' in return.

Although this irks me, it's no different than us muslims offering namaz or saying inshallah. So long as they are not forcing our players to say those words, why should it bother our players? It's just like any banter between sports teams. Just that we have religion and politics mixed in.

Its just a game and these are sportsmen/athletes.
for better or worse, cricket has been one way for middleclass/lower class people to actually have a merit based (somewhat) system to break into higher economic standards.
granted there is still favoritism - but the players still get exposed if they fail repeatedly and the good ones eventually find a place.

the boards maybe at war and politics, but the players should be supported.

from now on, I am supporting any thing in pak that allows a tangible merit based system. even if its flawed. this is one area - i dont care if we lose as long as we give a good fight and learn from our mistakes.

please, for heavens sake - dont make a general as the head of cricket because of security or some dumba$$ reason like that. (we have had the great fortune of generals leading cricket boards as well! @Signalian - these generals were apex cricketers with much better skill I believe? )

if a player wants to leave to UK/aus on his performaces, let him leave, we will find another lower/middle class folks to take his place

the PSL has been good in that terms.

we are all well and good blaming India for combining sports and politics - we have had a handpicked person (by the political party in the ruling) in charge of cricket affairs - how is that any different?

so I dont support the board, I support the cricketers, I support the system slowly building and cleansing itself so give merit based opportunity so no more recommendation/nepotism/army brat can get a place. they can influence this after a player has made a mark - which is still fine.
