ISLAMABAD - Following a high-level meeting with party leaders, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan gave Ayla Malik and Asad Umar the green signal to start campaigning for by-polls in National Assembly (NA) constituencies NA-71 Mianwali and NA-48 Islamabad, respectively. NA-48 was vacated by PTI President Javed Hashmi while NA-71 was vacated by Khan himself.
Ayla Malik, who had spent two days in exhaustive meetings regarding the matter, left for Mianwali, party sources revealed. The decision could create a wave of criticism within the party since many leaders have been of the view that decisions are being taken without consultation from senior party leaders.
