Topgun: Fighters I mean jets have made history first the design came out people speculated and bang F-16 was born, The original model of the wind tunnel test is 2 feet long, The design was changed 27 times after 500 wind tunnel tests they were 100% sure and made F-16, Same with YF-22 and JF-35.

Well project is delayed and India is partially or fully out of this project. India didn't provide its part of fund for this project.

I hardly see f16 as something newer. The US might have big technology items but design is ruled by Sovjets forever...

the forward wing design reduces the frame life too...why is Sukhoi still pursuing it?

Something to do with agility. Forward swept wings offer greater maneuverability, offer a higher possible AoA and prevent stall, or so I've heard. Also, supposedly, the airflow is more controllable somehow. I'm in the Elec/Comp side of Aerospace Engineering, I leave this stuff to the Mechs to figure out. Maybe in a few years I'll be well versed in airframe design, but not quite yet.

Well there are many other technologies/ideologies that the F-16 is known to bring to operational aircraft. Chacha Murad Khan will obviously know much more about it that I can hope to explain. This is just one possible technology. Also, Soviet technology, particularly during the Cold War era, was no doubt very advanced (particularly in the Space-tech), but to say that they've always had a technological edge is not quite true. In aircraft design, for example, the Americans have always enjoyed a sizeable qualitative advantage.

The actual combat plane won,t enter service in Russia until 2017 and india 2020 at least.

Any ways "PAK-FA" stands "Perspektivny aviatsionny kompleks frontovoy aviatsii", literally "Future Frontline Aircraft System"

Its also known as "Sukhoi/HAL FGFA"....where FGFA is Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft.
