Thats because those People of 1975 Saw 1971... it was hard to wash their brain, no?? They knew it very well those who killed Mujib were themselves decorated freedom fighters.... But now a days its easy to brainwash people... they hardly know anything... All they Know is Shopokhher shokti and Bipokhher Shokti Mula like this -

Awamileague is the only party with balls and support!! BNP lacks courage and Jamat lacks Support. League willnt Go down so easily!

I want to know, why Mirza Farul still acting secretary of BNP? He is the best thing happen to BNP after long time. This guy has done marvelous job to reunite (somewhat) scattered BNP yet still acting. Begum Zia is out of her mind.

.
Could U please reveal the current status of BKZ? Why hasn't she been saying anything for the last 7-10 days?

BNP simply cannot go out supporting Jamaat openly in the public as the majority of Bangladesh wants this trial. BNP has supported Jamaat throughout this trial by promoting their hartals and saying "we want a free and fair trial". Khaleda Zia coming out and giving a statement for the trials simply would alienate the masses of the country. If you notice the western news outlets you will notice their headlines stating "islamist leader" and this term carries a certain dogma. Jamaat has the full backing of Jamaat since they know they wont be able to uproot BAL without them. Khaleda Zia is quite well physically.

I doubt it. They have got more important things to do. Now, if you consider only the BAL and RAW funded leftist parties then it's definitely the case.

Heh heh, Unnayan er joyar, thanks to Mujib and her daughter Hasina and their Awami League. Of course.

Bangladesh will never prosper till we root out the traitors from among our midst. No Bangladeshi should undermine Bangladesh interest for the sake of another foreign country. That will never bring anything good for Bangladesh and its people.

Eventually we should get rid of all political parties, because all members of these political parties put their personal interest above country.

I support a party less system, where only independent candidates will stand for elections based on their track record. We can make it happen if we try. Do not vote for political parties and only vote for independent candidates.

Kalu bhai, it's always good to see you come back with your original ideas. Please do some research and write an article on how this party-less election is possible, what the pitfalls and possible advantages are. For a strater I'd tell you something I know of. I hear that in JeI no members can be a candidate for any party post. Individual members secretly nominate a person of their choice. Obviously this worked tremendously well for their party. Now can this method be extrapolated to the national level with adjustments and modifications? Another thing, we have to keep in mind that in BD, and perhaps in many other countries, people are by nature selfish and unscrupulous. In local govt elections too, where no party allegiance is considered by masses, they elect candidates who are well-known for their anti-national, corrupt and criminal activities.

.
Reforming the 2 parties is much better a solution.

If Pres Zia stayed alive for another 1 decade, BNP would have been a strong cohesive party with internal democracy. He could have induced a strong unity among Bangladeshis above ideology/party politics where a chauvinist dalal party like BAL would have found its place at the museum under natural democratic process. Chanakyan malaun terrorist attacked BD where it hurt the most. Now apart from BKZ , there is no one to hold the party together not even her son IMO.

@Eorl, bro I believe U should try opening a analytical thread here on the economic adverse effect of building padma bridge on "own" funds and loans from China/India. it would be a good discussion . I am pretty sure BAL thugs will impose another unna-yan er juar on Bangladeshis with lunnacy on padma bridge.

Did not know that JeI have internal democratic practices. This should be copied by all political parties, instead of their current system of being dynastic dictatorships.

The current democracies in the world are all multi-party systems usually dominated by two large feuding parties. One party systems are authoritarian, such as communist party led China.

A party less system is the next evolutionary step for democracies, but these things need to happen before a party less system can be in place:

- the big parties will never allow a party less system
- parties are den of corruption to exploit the masses by the rich or foreign powers and subvert public interest
- way to achieve this is to create a internet enabled and networked direct democracy group
- if the group can become large and include a few million educated individuals working closely as an offline interconnected group using online communications to coordinate then this group can become more powerful than existing organized groups such as political parties or armed forces
- this group can try to reform political parties from within and also include almost all armed forces officers
- this group can have its own media, newspapers, sat-TV channels, radio, web forums etc.
- once this group becomes the most organized entity in the country, it can then endorse independent candidates using direct democratic polls from within its members. If the group and its media has credibility, people will increasingly vote for these independent candidates and eventually the parties will get sidelined and become irrelevant

Problem is no one even in advanced countries have tried this. So this working in a poor country like Bangladesh is far fetched, but one can always try with our expats and educated netizens.

At least, when individuals would go for election separately, there will be only individual corruption, not gangbang corruption.

I can list some pros of your proposal:

1. Individual corruption, no gangbang corruption.
-If anyone indulge into corruption, then he has to face trial and be rejected by the people of that area and no party back up as Abul has got in Padma case.

2. No ideology based politics that divide the people/nation.
- There will only one ideology, i.e. development and peace.

3. People with all types of minds (BAL, BNP, Jammat) would be MP/ministers from different areas at the same time in the parliament.
- In case of any law, policy to be passed, there will be held some vote by the parliament members under Parliament speaker.

4. No more student politics.
- The political awareness, criticisms will be done by the media and people of those individual areas from where the MP/Ministers elected, not by students.

5. No party would convict other party
- Efficient democracy would exist, no party would act as Dalal like BAL.

6. No secular or not, argument would exist
- What would be the country's social and religious values, will be represented democratically by the people with all types of minds (BAL, BNP, Jammat) in parliament under vote by the MP/Ministers.

7. There will be not hierarchy of leader and field worker relation
- No party leader would be able to safe any field worker/activist if any crime is committed, like Abul and Biswajit killers got.

8. Army will take the responsibility of election in every 5 years to elect individuals MP/Ministers from individual areas.
- Army will do it using independent election commission.

9. The nomination for the candidature would not be partisan, rather based on eligibility.
- Every one with certain eligibility and education background would get the chance to go to election, and then represent, serve the local people and the country better.

Great insights. The main idea is that for the people (educated and informed, the masses will follow their trusted figures) to be organized and not allow the crooks to organize into political parties. Please see above post for more ideas.

Yes, I completely agree with the fact that if any attempt has to be taken, then it has to be started from the internet first.

Since, and honestly, we can not completely ignore the desires of AL (but ALs are real traitor) and Jammat/islami minded people, so for sake of peace, any such attempt would reflect the visions of all types of people at the same time and always.

Here I would like to propose a tentative scheme and time-frame:

/First, we can form a main website like truedemocraticnetwork.bd that will act as Virtual Parliament of BD (2014)

/then in that site we will explain our idea clearly (2014)

/then we will be forming a large group on that site (2014 - 2015)

/then we will create posts for MP/Minister for different sections/sectors on that Virtual Parliament (2014 - 2015)

/then we call for nomination for those posts (2016)

/then the new candidates would be able to submit their nomination papers for future online election (2016)

/then we will select 10 to 20 most eligible candidates from each area of 300 areas (the most difficult task) (2017)

/then we will tell them (10 to 20 candidates) to start work in the field for 1 year and they will be collecting the numbers of National ID card who would probably vote them (2018)

/then we will select the final 5 candidates from those 10 to 20 candidates based on their higher numbers of National IDs collected who would probably vote them (2019)

/then those final 5 candidates for each area would start working again in the field for another 1 years to convince people in their area to vote them finally in online virtual parliament (2020)

/then, there will be vote machine in the streets to collect vote for online virtual parliament(2021)

/then the vote would be collected in the secured server of our virtual parliament aka truedemocraticnetwork.bd site's server (2021)

/then the final candidate would win in the election based on maximum vote from each area and would get seat in the Virtual parliament (2021)

/them people would congratulate the winners of the virtual parliament

/then in the mean time, our supporter of virtual parliament would be massive,

/then that virtual parliament would reflect the aspiration and choice of the people better than the existing real parliament as the people already have voted the virtual parliament in an new and efficient way

/then putting enormous pressure on the existing govt., a care taker/Army government would be brought (2021) (the second most difficult task)

wait......another election would be held

/then the existing parties (winier of 1914 election and opposition or BNP, Jammat, and evil BAL) would give nominations of their candidates for 300 areas (2021)

/then we the controller of truedemocraticnetwork.bd/virtual parliament would give the control to the election commission. (2021)

/then those party candidates (from BNP, Jammat, and evil BAL) and the final winner of Virtual parliament, and the runners up who lost to the final winner of Virtual parliament (as another chance to win) would again go for online virtual parliament election under the supervision of election commission (2022) (the party candidates both existing and new would get people's vote based on their previous work and party reputation and eligibility)

/the new finalist will be elected among the candidates from party, winner of VP and runner up of VP (2022)

/the with the help of people and tare taker govt. the final 300 winners of the virtual parliament would take the seat and oath in the real parliament that is in Jatiya Shansad (2023)

/then people will be electing new finalist after every 5 year.

You are moving in the right direction, but it may not work out exactly the way you have laid out the road map in above. For further discussions on this, I would recommend you and others to come to bangladesh2050 site. We will go from there.

Its possible, but very expensive. Rather form a different party, but thats expensive as well. It comes down to getting the finances and the person financing will have his own agenda. He's be better off investing in BAL or BNP to get what he wants

The finances are not a problem. I will discuss more details in that site.
