I agree with you that EQ can not yet be measured objectively since we don't have an objective definition of emotional intelligence. I also agree that the whole issue is hopelessly polluted with political correctness.

Glad to see.

However, I still maintain that "people skills" are on par with IQ skills; you can be coached on them, just as you can take classes in calculus, but some people have superior innate ability, just as some people have an innate ability for specific sports.

Unlike so called "EQ" (people skill?), IQ is not skill. and it can not be trained (else will sb beam me up to 170 Enistein Class IQ, please ).

There are abundent researches taken that IQ can be quite accurately measured across races on pre-school kids and even as little as infants, whose only "skills" are about eat, sh!t, and sleep. :D

All that matter is who survives, regardless of how they do it.

Agreed.

What a load of bollocks!!

South Asians are not over 20 IQ points lower than East Asians on average.

If this were true then, the average South Asian would indeed have learning difficulties.

Much as it pains me to see this, too many East Asians buy into this nonsense. They do not understand that other factors like ethnic homogeneity and a more relaxed attitude to religion is mainly responsible for their current lead over South Asians in the economic field.

Well, the average South Asian IQ is 82.

The average East Asian IQ is 105.

The so-called anti-racist liberals have yet to actually engage this by refuting or pointing out other scientific studies that refute this. Why is that? Why are all of these studies showing the same thing?

Is it ALL bias?

Is it ALL cheating?

All of these tests? Conducted by different countries, different individuals, different universities and organizations, ALL in different time periods ranging from the 1920's to 2013 (most recent one above).

I don't buy it.

My my, another IQ thread. Impressive. In 30 minutes on these forums, and I've already found two threads on IQ.

Well, it's unquestionable that East Asians have the highest IQ's on Earth, but it's also unquestionable that the White race has developed and invented almost all of the modern technologies that we use today.

This article is a crock of horse manure. Look. NZ's IQ is higher than Indi and Pakistan?? LOL. This country is filled with illiterates. Perhaps what this article is subjugating on is the fact that the overall population has low IQ rather than looking at the number of men and woman with higher IQs

New Zealand's literacy rate is almost 100%. Troll.

I don't think there is any need to take pain. ;)

Different countries have taken such "lead" over history. If one views the history as a tapestry, there will be the rise and fall of different civilizations, people, cultures...

There is something called the recency bias. People tend to forget how things were a few years back, a few decades back and certainly there is very little memory of anything beyond that.

South Asians do equally well (or better) in equal conditions. One can see it happening all over the world.

East Asians (too broad a term like South Asians, they all have their own trajectory. If we take North Koreans as representatives of East Asians, we get a very different picture) were far below most of the world till a few decades back as repeatedly pointed out.

Even now, there is hardly any innovation coming out of most of East Asia (at least the largest constituent). It is mostly manufacturing at a very large scale. Don't let the number of patents fool anyone. They are mostly cheap copies of patents filed elsewhere.
