Im curious about that as well. Maybe avalanches took place in the past as well but the news never came out in mainstream media? Either way RIP to the soldiers doing their duty.

The state of art avalanche warning system should be set in each base, so that soldiers can be saved from such weather related death.

That 36Bn$ was spent on DEFENCE. Siachen is an offence.
