Australia in hot water over 'very serious breach'

This has EVERYTHING to do with people's race and religion.

Australia gets two streams of asylum applicants:
-- by boat (90% genuine; mostly from Middle East + Sri Lanka)
-- by plane (60% genuine; mostly from India, China and SE Asia)

The bigot-infested Australian media has created a hysteria about the boat people (who are more genuine) while remaining completely silent about the plane people (who are far less genuine).

90 +60 =150% .I think percentage is calculated on scale of 100 ie. per cent ( 100).

What's your criteria of genuine and non-genuine ?? Do you mean illegal without visa immigrants are more genuine than with visa immigrants ?? :undecided:

Of the asylum seekers that come by boat, 90% are determined to be genuine refugees by Australian courts.
Of the asylum seekers that come by plane, 60% are determined to be genuine refugees by Australian courts.

@Roybot sir, what's your take on this ??

Any authentic Australian source to corroborate that ??

No- India has a responsibility for this part of the world. A few Indian destroyers patrolling these seas could ensure that no ship accidentally enters into others' territories. We can also help train indonesians with our aircraft carrier groups watching over them.
No, you don´t have any duties here. unless India has any signed agreements. sure, you can dispatch vessels and operate in international waters. that is ok. actually only the sole superpower America has resources and allies to project power in this region.

No , India should help Australia to fend off illegal immigrants , just as India does with BD. These illegal asylum seekers can go to their countries who are criticizing Australia.

India's stance on illegal immigrants is well known hence India would side with Australia on this. As a Indian I would say that Australia should not breach Indonesian waters but should shoot to kill the illegal immigrants if spotted in their waters.

No, we have RESPONSIBILITIES, we can't look away when people of the region are so disturbed. We should patrol the waters. And then we'll call a conference of Australia and Indonesia to mediate a truce. As a guarantee our warships can enforce the terms of the truce!!! It is but naturally a responsibility of India only!!

But see the table no. 10. Top beneficiaries are Iran,Pakistan, China, Egypt,Iraq, SL. There isn't any bias against any particular religion or race as you had pointed out .

First of all, I was talking of the media, not the government.
Also, what matters more is Table 5 (the applicants) since it highlights the preponderance of undeserving applicants.

The media's drumbeat is about 'fake' applicants who abuse/cheat the system. By that measure, it is clear where their focus should be.

I didn't know either of two countries ie. Australia or Indonesia ever asked for Indian mediation.

Indonesian and Indian members refrain from racial and personal attacks on Australia.

Yes but Australian navy is just following the orders of it's government.

you are free to spend money and put your resources into region, to patrol whereever international waters. but what do you expect to get in return? India has no treaty with any nations in the region. you have no duty. neither responsibility.

if your warships intrude into other territorial waters, you risk a confrontation if not a war. Calling on a conference and mediate between Australia and Indonesia sounds a better idea to me.

And the goverment follows the wishes of the majority of its citizens.Suggesting masses of immigrants should be forced down the throats of unwilling australians is sheer madness.A country has a sovereign right to stop people from infiltrating its borders.

Australia has a Migration Review Tribunal which has jurisdiction over immigration decisions.

But the link you gave was of RRT (Refusee Review Tribunal ) and this is different from MRT(Migration Review Tribunal.)
