I will quote myself again:
Our culture, law and religion gives most safety to women on this earth. Now if there is any discrepancy its in the implementation department. And I am always a strong proponent of implementation of law. Be it laws for protection of women, or the ones we made for Muslims, in which it says that Ahmedis need to state that they are Ahmedis in identification documents.
Stats often lie, do tell me is there any Pakistani law that is specifically against women? Is there a law stopping them from driving? where in some countries they do. Do tell me where is wage disparity, in which department? If a man works 40 hours doing the same job as women who works 30 hours, should he be paid more? As I gave you examples before, do you want women to be sitting on street looking for daily labor? Do you want them in Wapda department, climbing up trees fixing shit with out proper equipment? Do you want them as first responder of Rescue 1122, carrying an emergency case weighing 150kilos?
We have to consider this thing holistically, not just based on pure stats. Stats don't always give the complete picture. You think majority of our population is from upper middle class? 40% of our population is in multi-dimentional poverty, in which a man works his *** off, listening to bs of his bosses, fellow-workers and then at home he has to listen to the chik-chik, tension about electricity bills, gas bills, rent etc. And yes I need to listen to the working women in high positions about women rights in Pakistan, because they surely know more living a posh life.
