Aurangzeb gave temples grants, land: Historian

We know our history better than you do.

He destroyed our temples. Akbar did not. Precisely why you don't respect Akbar and do for Aurangzeb.

I respect your PoV and likewise would like you to return the favor. He was bad for us. Only for us. Not for you.

See this is what makes Hindus as bad as Aurangzeb.

You didn't like what Aurangzeb did, fair enough, but what have you done? i.e. Hindus, with Sikhs & Muslims? Operation Blue Star, Babri Masjid etc

Your track record is even worse than his!!!

Secondly, and more importantly, he is dead, you can sit and call me what ever you want, that is your prerogative, but when you ultimately meet the Lord and Master of the Universe, do ask him, who was more bad?

I don't believe in absolute morals. We do what we do to survive, live to the best of our capabilities. Aurangzeb's destruction and persecution was unmatched for his time, in India. His own family never recovered. His empire did not. The other rajas had had enough. It was a landmark event. That was a lesson Hindus and Sikhs learnt very well - trust me.

Read his court chronicles. Bring someone with knowledge of Farsi and see for yourself. You should get your answers.

He gave you guys jobs!!! Just like the middle east is doing now, are they slaves as well?
We get paid. They did not. That is the difference. Slaves and workers.

Perhaps your next generations will claim the same about the middle eastern states in the next couple of hundred years from now....:pop:

We have never cared for the assault on the ME areas. Except Palestine. We did cry about that place for about half a century. To no effect.

necessity at the time maybe?
Na. No point. They don't care about us. It's only business. They send us crude. We refine it in Gujarat and Maharastra and send them back petrol. Plus there are laborers there working in construction etc. That's all.

They don't care about you now just like Aurangzeb, So maybe at the time of Aurangzeb, your ancestors were also just conducting business in his courts, and laborers of the time were working in construction, etc....just business thats All

My ancestors were mostly killed off or converted. Survivors fled to Ladakh and stayed there under Tibetan/Buddhist patronage for some time before returning to Sikh ruled Kashmir after a few decades.

. . .
We had. During the Dogra rule my mother's ancestral family reconverted to Hinduism. They were lucky. They took the chance. Usually converts didn't return because the fear of another Islamic invasion and rule was always there.
So I am assuming that Aurangzeb was the cause of all your ancestral suffering?

Naah. He was a minor nothing when compared to Sikander Butshikan. Not sure if you know about him. Our closest and dearest temple - Martand is in ruins due to him. Well, it's no longer a temple anymore anyway. It was burnt to the ground. Read about it if you wish to.

Kya time pass laga rakha hai.

On topic We need big statues of Aurangzeb in India and highways too.
Kashmiris for this reason changed their surnames closest to their Hindu names. Dhar became Dar. Bhatt became Butt. Wani, Tickoo remained though. Guru also remained intact. Like Afzal Guru. :omghaha:

The funny Hindu surnames were kept for this reason. There were many persecutions. It became a norm. It remains one. :)
