AUDI starts feasibility study to assemble in Sindh

In addition to power, the availability of trained manpower and a stable political environment are also part of such feasibility studies, among other things.
Average cost of a tin box (suzuki ) is a million rupees now , honda ( lexus like luxury) costs 20k $ so despite all the uncertainty pakistanis can afford

Of course, some Pakistanis are rich. The government is poor, as are tens of millions of other Pakistanis.

Talking abount business its Audi and they wont waste time unless they see gray areas in the market which means few thousand cars sold
Which also means creating employment or self employment thus over all will be a positive factor for the people. And yes it wont change life of millions impoverished heck even if it changes life of few dozen This project will still be worth it

Yes, but a few thousand units is not enough to merit a dedicated assembly plant, I would suspect.

Most of the high end cars in Pakistan are driven by thieves of public money, tax evaders, loan defaulters, politicians, bureaucrats, spoilt kids of former army generals. If economy is documented, the stand of living will be more even.

The fascination of cars from high end brands is fine but its the question of affordability too. Audi A1 and A3 are premium hatchbacks. They are still a cut above regular cars we can buy here North America and Europe.

The GDP per capita here is almost 54k. Compare this to Pakistan with 1.5k. Now do the comparison how many can actually afford an Audi in Pakistan through halal means.

Just imagine an Audi made in Pakistan whose doors dont shut properly with cheapest quality General tyres. This is a disgusting sight for me even without seeing.

Look forward to Germany plant in Pakistan and cooperation in trade and economic focus
Also greatly thankful Germans don't play cricket , they comprehensively beat us in Hockey and all other sports

I really really HOPE, that they don't compromise on the quality just like Toyota, Honda and Suzuki.

Germany’s premium and world’s second largest car makers, Audi has stepped into the Pakistani Automobile Industry by starting a feasibility study for assembling Audi cars in Pakistan.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by AUDI AG; the Sindh Board of Investment and Mr. Martin Birkner of AUDI AG signed this MoU in the presence of Mr. Rainer Schmiedchen, Consul-General of Germany in Karachi and Mr. Arshad Raza of Premier Systems.

The much-delayed New Auto Policy 2015 has opened doors for new car manufacturers, establishing their assembly units in Pakistan; the most liked Audi is about to mark an entry in the country.

It is indeed a very encouraging development for not only automobile consumers but also for people of this industry. When the New Auto policy was about to be announced, it was tipped off that European manufacturers are keen to open their assembly and sales units here; that idea now seems to be turning into reality.

According to the signed MoU, Audi will study economic, legal and the logistic feasibility for establishing an assembly unit in Sindh. The company will also look into federal trade policies; Premier Systems will be its authorized importer in Pakistan.

At the moment, Pak auto industry is captured by Japanese automobile makers and now with the addition of high-quality brands like Audi, it will become much more competitive especially for local auto makers.

The government of Pakistan always wanted to bring in foreign, especially European car manufacturers in the country and now we can expect that with increased competition, local cars’ prices are likely to go down a notch.

Good News :D keep us updated on this

I don't understand why Pakistan is interested in doing a Partnership with German car manufactures we know how the Germans cheated and compromised rigged the engines and cheated emission tests . On the other hand Mercedes CEO Dieter already said German cars are not the future of car Industry . Recently China & British automobile company Austin martin & Le Eco started a long term partnership
Pakistan should start putting some money on developing its own full electric car , Buses & Track with China & UK after 2025 there would be huge influx of Electric cars & these benzin cars no one will buy any more like this co2 emission would be reduced & Pak can become first environment friendly country in south Asia

Audi has been one of my go to cars. I like its moderate luxury and cheap price vs BMW and Merce. Good news for Pakistan.
