These days all cars are modular with upto 80% components being sourced from independent vendors..A Japanese car and German car has the same air conditioner, brake, safety system, differential, blah blah..
In my practical experience of owning many vehicles, almost all cars are more or less same level of reliability and cost the same to fix when they break...unless they have some non standard engineering as in the case of French...even the Renault is pretty rock solid reliable..
Grip is also a question of driving surface, tyres and suspension tuning...unless all vehicles were driven over the same track by same person and driving conditions, it is difficult to rate the drip in such arbitrary manner..
You are right.. The cars I have driven and the roads were comparable.. Don't know about tires though..
