Abdul Sattar Edhi.

Abdul Sattar Edhi, NI (Urdu: عبد الستار ایدھی, Gujarati: અબ્દુલ સત્તાર ઇદ&#2752, or Maulana Edhi, is a Pakistani philanthropist. He is head of the Edhi Foundation, the world's largest ambulance help service and charity. Together with his wife, Bilquis Edhi, he received the 1986 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service. He is also the recipient of the Lenin Peace Prize and the Balzan Prize. Edhi is a Muslim of the Memon community. Institute of Business Administration, Pakistan conferred a honoris causa degree of Doctor of Social Service Management in 2006 for his services. In September 2010 Edhi was also awarded an honorary degree of Doctorate by the University of Bedfordshire.

Charity Work

Edhi Foundation runs world's largest ambulance service and operates free old people's homes, orphanages, clinics, women's shelters, and rehab centers for drug addicts and mentally ill individuals.[3] It has run relief operations in Africa, Middle East, the Caucasus region, eastern Europe and US where it provided aid following the New Orleans hurricane of 2005.

In November 2011, Edhi was nominated for a Nobel Peace prize by then Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.

I would request all respected members here on PDF no matter which nationality/country they belong to, to please support the nomination of Abdul Sattar Edhi for Nobel Prize 2012, his work is for whole humanity & must be supported.

He has single-handedly served countless Pakistani's and has left a lasting impact on his fellow countrymen and the world.

Obama was under full media coverings after his Egypt visit, Abdul Sattar Edhi nomination need support from whole world. Especially the work he done for humanity he deserve Nobel Prize before dying(May God give him more life but he is very old)

No offense, but why do people deem this "Nobel Peace" prize as something worthy to be received? In fact when butchers like Obama receive this so called "peace" prize it would be an insult for someone like Mr Edhi to be given a award that has been given to warmongers.

You DO make a valid point, but Nobel prize is arguably the most "prestigious" and recognized of the awards in the world, so getting one of those is still quite the thing =D
Obama and other "Peace" (blood) bringers on the other hand gets nominated by the US Jewish Lobby, which in turn technically control the world atm. So no surprises there.

There is one more person, He is a Kuwaiti who recently passed away. He is well known among the poor of African countries.

Both Eidhi and him have done a lot for the humanity and have spent what ever they have for the well being of others.
