This one has INDIAN RAW involvement written all over it! The attackers were typically in their teens and were also carrying grenades etc. They fired AK-47's in a very ''all-out'' fashion with the aim to create the deliberate scare and international incident. Too bad the INDIANS have chosen to involve the Sri Lankan sportsmen in this and now it high time that our Government should clearly point the finger where the blame lies......i.e INDIA!

It's possibly RAW, but we'll probably never know for sure. Wonder what the strategy shift was though by attacking sports players, which never happened before.

Cricket generates Pakistan quite a lot of revenue money. By attacking it, it hurts the Pakistan economy.

Plus it's the image thing. Lahore after all.

None of the international teams were willing to visit Pakistan. Australia and India had recently canceled their trips at which point the Sri Lankan team came to rescue Pakistan. They, in the process, invited the wrath of India yet continued with their plans of tour facing considerable opposition. And RAW decided to teach them a lesson. It was the perfect opportunity and they have served a crippling blow with minimal force.

So much for our intelligence and elite police units! They may just as well serve as practice targets!

I was just watching the news and Some Indian official was giving an Interview saying that "We're SHOCKED that this happened. We feel sorry for the Sri Lankans, and we hope that they recover soon, and we're "Shocked" and our sympathies are with them".

It's kind of pathetic that whenever OUR citizens have died because of Terrorism, I haven't seen any "special" press conference from Indian officials giving their "Condolences" to all the Paksitani lives that have been lost. But now since it's an attack on "International" professionals, they're crying their heart out for their sufferings.

UPDATE:

Nabeel Gabol from PPP is saying in an interview that the rocket launchers and grenades that have been used in this incident were from India along with "Other" equipment which would be shown to the Media soon after they're done with the Investigation.

The RPG all missed though! Could have been intentional. Unless they're incompetent terrorists.

The goal wasn't to kill the Sri Lankan players imo. The goal was to scare away cricket, and hit the Pak economy. It worked.

Statement currently being issued says:

The security arrangement was good enough to halt the attack but we didn't expect such a heavy attack, neither that many attackers fully equipped with modern weaponry, rocket launchers, gernades, machine guns, etc.. It was a well planned attack and investigation is currently being done..its too early to give any statements on who is responsible or behind the attack.
