On the night of February 13 to 14, 2018, French forces engaged in the Sahel conducted an operation on three objectives of terrorist armed groups, in the north-east of Mali, between Boughessa and Tin-Zaouatène near the Algerian border.

The operation began with simultaneous airstrikes on the targets, followed by helicopter assaults supported by Tiger helicopters and concluded with a ground engagement. The provisional assessment at this stage is about twenty terrorists killed or captured, three vehicles destroyed, weapons recovered, and a large number of documents seized.
