There are daily shootings in US towns and cities but the ones not involving school kids go unreported in national outlets. A lot of the shootings are mentioned in local news and given a cursory mention. Police always approach people with one hand on the gun. I was in a Walmart last week and a police vehicle stopped this car with Mexicans inside. They called backup with drawn out guns and once back up came they shouted at the driver to put hands on the wheel and all the others not to move. Told them clearly if they moved they would be shot. Fearing a shoot out I quickly drove off in case I became a friendly fire victim. The week before this,I visited a post office and shortly after a man was shot dead. Always on edge in the USA if their is an altercation or incident as they might pull out a gun. The police see this 24/7 so are always in a mode better you dead than me.
