Weapons used to be so limited in video games before compared to now
Nice analysis.

Americans should stop producing killing games/movies.

RIP to the victims and their families.

. . . .
Poor nutrition may be a factor when it comes to mental imbalances in the USA.

Their junk food diets are VERY high on calories, but very low on the essential vitamins and minerals/electrolytes (potassium, sodium, magnesium, etc.) that are required for regular mental and physical functions, and which usually come from vegetables and fruits. Not to mention things like Omega-3 fatty acids which normally come from fish, nuts and seeds (including cooking oil).

So not only do they become morbidly obese, but lacking in the above elements they can also become mentally unbalanced.

@TaiShang

Again, I think, it comes down to culture, which includes eating habits. But, beyond everything, it is that aspect of culture which corresponds to social responsibility and cohesion, which seems lacking in many instances in the US.

This cannot be reversed. Just impossible. Reversing crime and punishment politics would mean turning the entire domestic politics upside down, which would also mean a meaningful degree of reversal in foreign politics.

But, culture of violence needs to continue to ensure that enough public support are derived to support aggressive foreign policy and employ mentally-unstable people in foreign bases and use them in conflicts.

If the culture is one of a peace, foreign policy cannot be so sustained as being so violent.

So, people are being killed, and, I am afraid, more and more so, in the hands of mindless violence as the US foreign policy requires more violence under the counter pressure employed by some non-Western countries.

The solution is to increase security by further weaponizing social life, and they will do just like that. Allowing more security in the hands of "good" people, teachers, school security guards and perhaps students, in this case.

So is it the guns? Or is it the people who shoot the guns? You know the old saying, "guns don't kill people, people kill people."

Yeah, but guns give enormous boost of confidence to people with an intention (to kill). With guns, killing becomes much more easier.
