Asia's Prime Fighter PAF F-16

Please explain what you mean by "teething" issues. Placards and photos from the 2014 Zhuhai airshow confirm that the J-10A is capable of employing a variety of weapons; everything from satellite-guided glide bombs to SDBs to BVRAAMs.

"Employing Weapons" vs. "Deployed in Combat" or "Combat Proven" are two VERY different things and result in totally different real life experiences!!

Did I assume otherwise? Does being "battle-proven" suddenly improve a fighter's versatility or ability?

@Oscar , i managed to get some professional input on the performance of the Mirage -2000-9 vis-a-vis F-16....and not just the Block-60.
[Edited]

''I was witness to an exercise which involved, Mirage 2000-9 along with the Bk60 and Raptor. Its a super manoeuvrable jet, but after every turn i noticed it lost quite a bit of speed due to the high-delta drag...whereas the F-16 kept going faster and faster...this is where the F-16 excells, The UAE pilots who fly both say the Mirage is as good as the F-16 and whilst the Mirage has a slightly better instantaneous turn rate, the F-16's sustained turn / manoeuvring is better and that's what matters the most in a dogfight.''

This is common known knowledge regarding delta vs conventional wings.

The benefits of the delta design lie elsewhere.

In this age where AAMs can travel at Mach-5+, the supersonic speed has little relevance hence the designers have opted for cranked deltas with canards.... but that's another argument.

compound deltas and/or canards help with keeping the flow attached + flow re-energisation characteristics.

It helps with the AoA capabilities among other things but not really STR in the context of maneuverability

but delta wings also become kind of a burden at low speeds and low altitude. Having said that the F16 xl was the delta winged version of f16 which in that case were used to increase the range the aircraft.

Classically yes...low aspect ratio is definitely an issue at lower speeds (you can only compensate with AoA so much)

Nowadays its accomodated through a more powerful engine and various vortex generation methods

Having said that the F16 xl was the delta winged version of f16 which in that case were used to increase the range the aircraft.

There are pros and cons of every design.

No doubt the ladies of US had fallen in love with the Chief Designer of F-16 for good reasons. Such aesthetics and beauty only comes from a beautiful mind.

In today's age with missiles that can track you at 60g movements and practically ensure that you end up dead unless you do some miracle; these figures are becoming less and less relevant. In the real world, your fighter can dance like a monkey with thrust vectoring and all that.. and the F-16 with the JHCMS will still kill you as easily as it would if you were a straight and level bomber.

JHMCS very much prevalent in the Viper community these days.

Armed with triple bomb racks, a MLU dual seat F-16 blasts off for a mission against terrorists.

thats the arguement for the f35. it maybe useless in a dogfight but in a beyond visual range engagements the f35 has the upper hand against 4th gen fighters. a balance of agiligy and stealth is required to make a true airsuperiority fighter the f22 being a good example, and thats one of the reason why it was choosen over the yf-23.... agility.
