Asia Bibi's acquittal: TLP protests in various cities across Pakistan

KARACHI: Supporters of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) took to the streets in several parts of the country on Wednesday following a Supreme Court verdict acquitting and ordering the release of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman sentenced to death over blasphemy allegations.

Protests were being staged in different cities including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with major roads blocked.

Following the protests, Section 144 was imposed across Punjab and Sindh barring the gathering of more than four persons in public places as well as pillion riding. Section 144 has been imposed across both of the provinces from October 31 to November 10.

Lahore
In Lahore, a protest led by TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi was being staged at Charring Cross close to the Punjab Assembly.

The Lahore-Islamabad Motorway was blocked at Sheikhupura. The GT Road has also been blocked.

Protests were also being staged in Gujranwala, Layyah, Chishtian, Mansehra, Mirpur in Azad Kashmir, and other cities across the country.

Bro even if you are a Sharif supporter, it's very wrong to push a cause that will burn your country just for political points.

Your party would gain immense respect, if they came out and supported the court in this difficult moment.

It needs to be made clear protest is fine

Everything else is a arrestable offence and then start arresting people and clearing roads

Give them a designated area to protest till their hearts are content but no goof should be allowed to interrupt daily life
A glimpse how the law enforcement is dealing with the road blockades. Seems like they don't have any clear instructions.

Its because our law enforcement is poor, they tend to act like headless chickens

The military is organised but you dont want to call the military

Police reform can only be done by strong political will and it can take years

It is not Islamic to cause disturbance to the common man and make their lives a living hell and neither is Islamic to not reason, neither is it Islamic to cause obstructions for the common man, neither is it Islamic to use curseful words, neither is it Islamic to use violence when there are peaceful channels available, if they are truthful and have a case, then let them show and tell their reasoning. But, alas, they are nothing but pawns for some fanatics to retain their power and influence. The NEW OF MQM OF PAKISTAN, this religious fanaticism needs to be dealt with brute force. Protest but protest in peace, present your case, there are legal proceedings.
