It basically says to the Americans that our citizens won't allow too many trade concessions because of historical reasons , so have sympathy for us.

I just wait and observe for now bro. I judge maybe later when things lot clearer (on this issue...like anything regarding economics and larger destiny of countries that shape it). Right now a few years of this is just small thing when it come to psyche/narrative/resolve underneath. That stuff takes much longer chunk of years to even influence because it operates on cruise control in society largely.

Even right now, the trade war negotiation is just what cpl years running now?....WTO membership negotiation/materializing for China took much longer, 5 - 10 years I would say. China is immense and we must at least acknowledge the inertia they have. The US inertia (on this issue) must also been seen and proven long term....and from their vantage point purely, they should have simply negotiated the China WTO membership back then a lot better...but its a long somewhat complicated story. Sure there can be some Chinese and other company hedging/investing in others anyway already...and so good result for Vietnam etc who are in good position to grab that....but I am talking more on the biggest macro levels overall.

So again I just observe and take notes...I dont think its time for any grand conclusions yet....because large societies operate in long term time frames too. I think US and China will find an appropriate deal this year at some point and will comment more then.
