Well all I can say that only one nuke on any nuclear armed country can trigger a nuke war and of that happen then much of what we call human race will be ceased to exist following direct and indirect fallout of that nuke war.

If they had nukes in world war 2, there will be possibility of that but now things have changed and countries have gone smart. Some countries are yet to learn e.g. US. Other countries have already learned e.g. Germany and Japan. I don't think there is a possibility of nuclear war. Whoever try to trigger nukes, its rivals would go back to safer place so that country may not trigger it.

I've been of the belief that the third world war started immediately after 9/11. With how wide spread the so called "war on terror" is, and just how destructive it has been to the world, it is hard to argue that we're not already in the midst of the third great war.

i word i would use here is hot peace. the question is how long till it last. The way things are going we have Russia being attacked economically and i bet you that china will side with Russia otherwise its very much possible that china will be tackled alone in the future . I dont know why people dont see it, but i see a cold war teething and rising; for the first time now those possibilities are being discussed which were considered impossible a few years ago. the obama has gone with the policy of containment, the very same policy that were considered the corner stone of the relations btw america and russia. this time i am dam sure that it will turn hot and our generation will leave a desolate world for our babies to come

2) the complete destruction of the nuclear power of Russia / China using hypersonic weapons. Although the United States are ahead of Russia and China in the development of hypersonic missiles, but not enough to be sure of the result.
3) to create an anti-missile system, which is capable of intercepting about 100% ICBMs of Russia and China. Not an option, because Russia / China are constantly improving the means of delivery of nuclear warheads. That system, which the United States wanted to build in Europe is not actual even against modern Russian missiles, not to mention under development ones.

2) I don't get the hype about hypersonic weapons. since they have to be sent into space via ICBMs which te U.S can detect within seconds via spy satellites. and we would have our ICBMs in the air within a minute.
3) current anti-missile systems are shit. even if the enemy just uses ICBMs no anti-missile system can stop hundreds of ICBMs which can carry up to 10 warheads and also release penetration aides, and this isn't even taking into account cruise missiles and free fall nuclear bombs.
