My friends, I lived in china for 2yrs, 2007 & 2008. and now travel often there. When I was in China before Olympics, I couldn't get access to most of the English news sites, like CNN, BBC etc. After complaining a lot the local police came to visit me, and he called in my ISP, and they opened up English web site for me, as a special situation. when ever I traveled outside my base, say I am traveling to Shanghai, i stayed in hotels which had CNN, and BBC Asia. but whenever any news about China came on, the TV goes black. so basically most of the Chinese common peasant know is what government of China tell them. during Olympic they did open up foreign news access to internet, but kind of censored one. Thats what the freedom is. in china Government controls every aspect of peoples life. For example if some one from Anhui province want to study in Beijing, its a dream, unless his or her uncle is a party member. same goes to work also. with in the country Chinese are not allowed to travel freely, or allowed to choose to work wherever they want to work. Hukou . and even to visit Hongkong & Macou ordinary Chinese need Passport, and special permit to travel. its like getting permission to visit a foreign country. they dont even have basic right to propagate, hehe. I am not here to say Chinese people are bad. They are amazing people. They care for friendship more than any culture in this world. all i want to say is, they really do not know what freedom is, or democracy is. I am not going to tell you I know everything about China either. but when i read this forum, when someone from China write about India, and democracy, i feel its kind of oxymoron. If a Chinese really think he has freedom, tell him to gather a group of 100 people, and shout against the almighty CCP. or try have a third child. I do know India is not perfect, but at least a guy from small village in tamilnadu can go to Delhi, and start working with out anyone permission, or he can have 12 kids, if he wants, or gather 1000s of people and shout against PM of India. He has freedom of language, freedom of movement, justice, religion, speech etc. In China go and ask southern people. Well soon they wont able to teach Canton in their schools the way things are going. Please do not talk about cast system in India. Because you dont know what you talking about. Cheers all. Meanwhile ask how many chinese aroung Tiananmen Square were even allowed to open their windows to see some planes flying in the 60 year celebrations. There were police watching everyone.

And my friend the thing is that these foreigners try to show the negative things of our country. There is no country in the world with 0 poverty. But in documentries you'll always see Manhattan and beautiful New York, LA etc. in case of US.
But when it comes to India, they'll portray those poor steets of Chandni Chowk which u cant even think can exist here. You'll never see Metro but ppl just rushing in local buses.
Same is case with Mumbai. Local trains and slums. No Marine drive or Gateway of India. They can even portray Bengaluru in negative way.
I found that that there is nothing much difference between New Delhi and Beijing. The thing is that these Chinese dont allow these foreigners to shoot in the poor streets.

Arunachal students submit anti-China memo to Uttarakhand CM


NEW DELHI: A group of students hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, studying at Dehra Dun, has urged an action against China for its misadventures in
the border region, in a memorandum submitted to the Uttarakhand chief minister.

The students of Information Technology Institute for the Tribes of India (ITITI), Dehra Dun, presented a memorandum to chief minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, demanding creation of an 'Arunachal Battalion', to thwart any mischief from China and defend 'Mother India'.

The students' delegation led by Japken Kena, a Class X student, said, "No youth in Arunachal Pradesh will tolerate any mischief from the expansionist China."

The students said they want to join the Army and show the world that they are and shall always remain Indians.

CM Nishank assured them that their requests would be conveyed to the Prime Minister and the President.

"Till we have such patriotic students, we need not fear any one in the world," Nishank said.

The memorandum said, "We, the students of Arunachal Pradesh, want to express the concern and resolve of all Arunachal people regarding the arrogant, war-mongering interventions of China that claims Arunachal as its territory. We and our parents want to convey to Chinese people and their expansionist government that there is no India without Arunachal and no Arunachal without India. We are first Indians and then anything else."

The students further said, "We, the Arunachalis, are very patriotic people and will shed the last drop of our blood for defending our mighty India. We are cautioning China that it should not flare up tensions and hurt the peaceful people, otherwise it must remember that 2009 is not 1962 and we are well prepared for any eventuality."

They also made a request for setting up a military training facility in ITITI, so that they could join forces after completing education.

We need some policies and actions to give a chance to some of the true patriots of india , some of whom had gone in wrong directions because of neglect , distance, wrong policies .

Someone please kick the a** of the coward politicians to have some good plans and policies for the region and a chance for our people to prove their worth. Politicians some of whom are even shy and coward enough not to be able to say that Arunachal is our land.

Non withstanding the heated arguments on both sides, I feel that we should try to learn in peace. War/fighting is not a solution for anything.

Having lived in both countries, I appreciate both the countries. Not even once have I come across any Chinese with something negative to say to me. Everyone is very friendly. On the contrary, I think that a Chinese visiting/living in India would probably have a far harder time.

I feel that people shouting at each other in forum should probably visit each other's country. This will certainly help them understand the world better.

Do ethnic Chinese having lived next to "Bramladesh" or South Asians having lived in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada count as having had the exchange experience under their belt?

I understand chinese mentality very well and inside out. At grassroot level it is very positive. But something I don't under is the propaganda of the CCP to claim all places around it as one china.

Han chinese invaded taiwan(inhabites by the local aboriginals) centuries back, tibet was invaded as well. China claimed Tibet, taiwan, some distputed land with russia, macau , hong kong (although is attached to the mainland), the western provinces etc . They have them all now. Still hungry for land. Claims Arunachal,sikkim where they have no footprints as well no history. Well how much land do they need ?

With this logic, if there was no himalayas to obstruct them, the Han chinese would have certainly invaded Nepal, Bhutan , Leh&Ladakh and many parts of india. Han chinese have good history of invading nearby places.

Meanwhile India is completely different. Pakistan was seperated (although at the time of the creation of indian union), Bangladesh were given districts from west bengal and assam to raise their country. Do you think it was possible if people opposed. As per our history, Lord RAMA went to fight in Sri lanka to rescue his wife . After defeting the Ashuras in Sri Lanka they returned back. Can we claim Sri lanka because Supreme lord Rama defeted the locals for some cause ? How stupid it would be? Look at how many small countries flourish around india. Nepal, Sri lanka, maldives, Bhutan, bangladesh etc. If the british never controlled Andamans, I am sure India would have never claimed it as its own.
I am sure if the Han chinese were in India in place of indians , all these countries would have been invaded and claimed as ONE CHINA.

Lets assume all of us die due to some natural disaster. How much land is needed to burry us ? May be its still not enough for China. They need more. All I can assure is India will never invade anyone and has never done .So china has no threat atleast from the south.
But remember history changes with time. No great empire exists for ever. If there is an invader like Zanghiz Khan born again, we all are in danger, not only china this time. And in modern day we can see something like that slowly happening.
