Arrests of Chinese immigrants illegally crossing US-Mexico border jumps 1,230% in January

What dip in the last 5 years?
Maybe in the last 2 because of Covid which is going to show across the board declines..not just China.

But here are the people getting naturalizations..it's not showing any signs of a downward trend over the last 20 years as China became more prosperous.

This is not a small total either..that's ~630,000 Chinese people who became US citizens...and that's not even counting those who came over and didn't.

To put just the 630,000 into perspective..that's a lot of stadiums full of people. The famous Beijing "Bird's Nest" Stadium holds only 80,000 people and this pic is a tiny slice of it.
I was talking about the people crossing boarder illegally. Not the entirety of Chinese nationals obtained US citizenship, which are consisted of many wealthier class and F-1 students who remained within US after their investments or study. And this also proves China’s economic growth as if people were poor, it would be difficult to invest half a million dollars or afford the tuition of studying abroad.

Well as I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread over 1000 Chinese nationals were caught trying to cross the border in January 2023 and that is up from just 85 from January of 2022.

You visit SF and you went straight into strip joint??
@jhungary he was never in the states period. We have established that fact already.
Dont mind those like him. As I always said, they are enjoying their life in the West while praising how nice, good and prosperous their home country is, while badmouthing the country in which they immigrated to/live in. Lol If thats not the height of hypocrisy then i dont know what that is. Lol At least i can still respect those Chinese like @beijingwalker, since they decided to stay and live in China (or maybe just happen to be. Lol,) since at least i can understand they will praise their country while living in it and contributing first hand to its growth..'
hello there my favorite resident redcoat @mike2000 is back!

the point is why do they keep coming here when they can live in paradise in China?

Who said it's in SF? I said when I lived in NY, Some friends also asked me to go to Atlantic city even I don't gamble, same as some friends took me to red district in SF even I don't go for prositution. you can't see that logic?
No you did not. You never set foot in the states, just stay in your China.

Because whatever town, city, or province they came from did not have High Speed Rail. All it takes to convince anyone of any nationality that the apex of technology is HSR, especially Chinese HSR. If you ride Chinese HSR, your cancer will be cured, your ED will be fixed, your woman will become %100 more horny, your jawline more squared, and many more benefits. All because Chinese HSR have the best feng shui.

@etylo and @beijingwalker ,please elaborate on this issue.

Please don’t start ranting and calling names. If China, really is a paradise then why aren’t people from west trying to move there. Even, multitudes of asylum seekers head towards west. I have‘t ever heard of boatloads of asylum seekers perishing in high seas while trying to enter China.
Why?

Mind your own business of your own paradise land. Told you not to tag me times, are you that thick faced.

Forget about the bragging sole Chinese ultra nationalists here indulge in. I think its normal , they are supporting their country, even when they know they are wrong.
China is still a developing country. So you cant compare them with fully developed western countries. Until they can reach a developed country status, you will keep seeing butloads of Chinese trying to immigrate to the US, Canada, Australia/West for greener pastures or a better life. Nothing wrong there.

@etylo, any comments?

(The Center Square) – U.S. Border Patrol agents in Texas apprehended 90 Chinese nationals illegally entering the U.S. in the Rio Grande Valley on Thursday, a record.

Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Gloria Chavez said it was the greatest number of Chinese apprehended in a single day by RGV agents since 2010, bringing the total number of Chinese nationals apprehended this fiscal year to date to 1,667.

The RGV Sector in Texas leads the U.S. in Chinese apprehensions with 91% of those apprehended being single adults. Apprehensions so far this fiscal year are also a 930% increase compared to the same timeframe last year, she said.

The influx of Chinese foreign nationals creates “a strain on our workforce due to the complexities of the language barrier and lengthens the processing [time],” she said.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector has historically been the busiest along the southwest border. As cartel operatives move smuggling operations west, El Paso and Tucson sectors have recently seen higher numbers.

Rio Grande Valley Sector agents continue to be assaulted by foreign nationals, rescue abandoned children and drowning individuals, and arrest human traffickers and others with outstanding arrest warrants.

Last Wednesday, for example, McAllen agents apprehended a group of foreign nationals after they illegally entered the U.S. by Bentsen State Park in Mission, Texas. Several agents responded to the area after a Honduran national physically assaulted an agent and continued to resist arrest until agents were able to put him in handcuffs, CBP reported.

Later that afternoon, a McAllen Riverine Unit responded to a call from an Air and Marine Operations helicopter about an illegal foreign national who appeared to be drowning while attempting to swim back to Mexico. The crew located the man, extracted him from the river and gave him medical treatment.

Within a 24-hour time period, in separate incidents, agents also rescued several children smuggled into Texas who were abandoned by the riverbank.

Agents also arrested human traffickers and others with outstanding arrest warrants. In one vehicle stop last week in Los Ebanos, Texas, the driver, a Mexican national, and front passenger, a U.S. citizen, were observed picking up several people in an area known for human smuggling. The men were apprehended and the U.S. citizen was turned over to Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office after the agents learned he had a warrant out for his arrest for driving while intoxicated and was on probation for heroin trafficking.

Not trying to derail the thread nor stick a flaming session but both Indians and Chinese have been flooding the US border(and this can be seen in recent metrics). Some 100k+ Indians crossed the Canadian border into the US and many illegally and Chinese are trying it too.

I know of a few Pakistanis and Afghans that also tried the Mexican border run so clearly these borders need a massive wall with barbed wire and electrification.

The right is right on this one.

You’re welcome to the United States anytime and from anywhere - but please come legally or trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again.

I think the policy is intentional.

US needs cheap labor.

Undocumented workers work overtime and get under paid.

Businesses do not need to pay minimum wages or unemployment insurance or any other benefits

Undocumented workers don't have to pay taxes.

So it is a win-win situation for all the parties except the middle class Tax payers who will have to pay for all the services towards the undocumented workforce.

Why are they escaping Utopia. Did their social credit point drop below acceptable level.

May be they are from Taiwan?

Since TSMC is moving to the US they may be trying to sneak in to get a job?
