Nobody comes to you if you did not ask for it. Your govt. approached us for the loan and we laid out our terms and conditions and you guys acquiesced. Why change of heart now???

Actually we sweetened the deal for you by writing off first tranche of 200 million dollars to grant and not credit and you can use it as you please. And this is a line of credit, not a loan- which you can exercise at your own discretion.


We are losing the principal on this loan and 2% interest is nominal considering the period of repayment. If you consider the inflation and the risk involved with change of govt. in BD, we are in a loss to justify this loan. This is tax payers money and after end of the day you have to justify this excess. You have to understand we still have 300 million extremely poor in our country (bigger than your entire population ) and this is definitely a stretch for us.

I would love to thank India for the $1 billion loan, but look where all the money went to pay with the Indian loan. All went to projects specifically to help India, while adding little benefits to improve the infrastructure as needed in BD.

And in exchange we favoured India by giving water transit of goods, allowed our land to bring heavy machines to the Palatana power station in Tripura and many other things. $2 billion is a very cheap money for BD as its total foreign exchange earning in a year exceeds $40 billion per year. India flattered itself by unilaterally asking BD to take this money.

No one really would like to go to india from BD. Our targets are USA, EU, Japan, Korea and Middle East. Indians love to flatter themselves by publishing false news and then believing these. But, of course, we would like Muslim Bangalis to go to the the western Assam to realize a future demographic goal. BD has to buy everything from India and indian bank will pay the supplier means it a rupee loan.

Who wanted your snacks to start with? We needed $7 billion as down payment for transit instead you got it free. Let alone free lunch you are turning into free loader.
