They pay taxes to the GoI on their wealth..isn't that enough? Why should they alone be philanthropist..every well to do Indian can contribute money for the upliftment of the poor.

Its about they could and not they should. Its their wealth and they can what they please with it...donate to poor or buy a yacht. Also many prefer to do the donations anonymously.

I feel Indians in general are not a giving community. I think its mostly because most of them have been poor and hence have little sympathy for the poor. But the younger generation born to middle class and upper middle class parents are more sympathetic.

I don't think so. Indians are a very generous community, but mostly is given to God.

There are at least 2 billionaires under whom I have been employed that were not on that list.

I can't recall where but I read that here was 16 USD billionaires in Pakistan but their wealth is spread across the globe and very little IN Pakistan.

16/1226 = 1.3%. Which is fine but nothing to be proud of as this wealth isn't coming to us in any way.

May be they will milk some more out of us.
