Khaleda Zia said on Sunday the
military would not sit idle if the
country plunged into chaos.
“Our military works for maintaining
peace abroad. They will not sit idle in
case of any anarchy in the country. They
will duly discharge their duties,” the
opposition chief told a rally in Bogra.
Referring to Bangladeshi soldiers’ leading
role in the UN peace-keeping missions in
many troubled region across the world,
Khaleda said, "If there is no peace in their
own country, the foreigners will say the
army cannot ensure peace in their own
backyard."
“Time has come today to think of this,”
she said.
Bogra was the worst-hit after a tribunal
dealing with crimes against humanity
involving the War of Independence in
1971 sentenced Jamaat-e-Islami leader
Delwar Hossain Sayedee to death on Feb
28.

On Mar 3, four people died after police
opened fire at rampaging activists of
Jamaat-e-Islami as they had attacked local
Shajahanpur Police Station in Bogra.
Later troops were deployed for a few
hours to guard the police station.
Referring to that incident, Khaleda, the
wife of former military ruler Gen Ziaur
Rahman, praised the soldiers for their
role in ensuring people’s security.
The BNP terms those killings in police
firing ‘genocide’ by the government. But
the ruling Awami League says along with
Jamaat-e-Islami the main opposition party
is trying to create anarchy in the country.
Jamaat is the key partner in the BNP-led
opposition alliance.
Her statement came on the same day (Mar
24) when former Army chief HM Ershad
had imposed military rule by removing
then BNP government in 1982.
Bangladesh has seen a torrent of direct
military interventions since 1975 and the
2007-8 caretaker government is accused
of the front office for the military.
The BNP Chairperson was travelling to
Bogra and Joypurhat to gather support for
her demand to restore the caretaker
government system to oversee next
elections.
She left Dhaka on Saturday and stayed
overnight in Bogra.
On Sunday morning, she addressed a rally
at Matidali Biman Crossing in Bogra on
the way to Joypurhat. She talked about
military’s role there. Later she left for
Panchbibi of Joypurhat.

:rofl:our backbone less armed forces

I think the Army has backbone, it is the Jawans from 90% majority who are the backbone, not officers who are often bought and sold with money and personal interest. Despite Khaled Mosharref's counter coup in 1975, the Jawan's revolted to bring Zia to power. Same thing can happen again this time, only not to bring any Army general to power, but to bring a CTG to power in favor of democracy, a free and fair election:

The event can go down like this:

1. KZ has to unite all anti-India, pro-Bangladesh and pro-democratic forces within the country (BNP, Jamat, 18 party alliance, students, conscious general public, workers etc.)
2. There should be a plan for a non-violent demonstrations and sit in just like Tahrir Square around October or November to demand election under CTG. Facebook, Twitter and other internet based methods as well as SMS texts will have to be used to organize this united group. The best book on Nonviolent resistance will have to be translated to Bengali distributed and studied by all:
From Dictatorship to Democracy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This vidoe has to be seen by all:
The Power and Potential of Nonviolent Struggle by Gene Sharp - YouTube
3. Connections will have to be made with Egypt and Tunisian Arab Spring movement organizers
4. Once the movement reaches a full swing, then Bangladeshi people will decide which side they are on
5. Army Jawans will also have to decide which side they are on, after Police and AL cader starts their killing operations to suppress this non-violent movement for democracy to hold free fair election and prevent the dictatorial AL govt. to come back to power using a rigged election

So it is a test for Bangladeshi people and the Jawans, if they pass the test they will get democracy, if they fail, they will not. And KZ and her united groups will have no regrets, because they tried with all their power to help the country and perhaps the country was still not ready. Lets see how things turn out.

Currently there isn't any organized protest. We need one single push to spark revolution. The parties should organize one single day to surround all he important places with banners saying about the corruption of AL and wanting ctg, there should be a media who would portray it to the whole world. There should be clashes with police if necessary and a beatdown of them ofcourse. Vandalism is best avoided but everyone should protest in one single day for this to work.

The 12 part video below is an excellent collection of Arab spring and other non violent revolution and awakening of mass consciousness since 2012, using new media such as social media on internet. About the conspiracy theory on Masonic cults and One World Govt., please disregard these, because I do not believe there is any evidence for these yet.

The time for revolution is now:

Let him practice typing English and posting on an international forum, plz don't object his posts :cheesy: .

I understand the context Khaleda Zia tried to say...however, she did a big mistake. Media is giving complete diversion to her context, they're trying to imply that she opted for a coup while she actually expressed a different view.

Political heads require pragmatism, two stupid ladies completely lack on this sector. It's a bad timing for her to deliver the statement. Clueless masses are being fed inverse view of her by our yellow media and BAL thugs govt. as well.

Sometimes I wonder, how we would have passed our days if there were no politics ?
