The operation has been in talks for quite a time now with Wall Street Journal being the first source of the news leaking out. After this leak, the army said that they cannot afford any operation (about 4 days ago) which might have brought calm to the miscreants. Now that they have announced the operation, it would allow the locals to gear up and the militant leaders to come for meetings, rest of the plan if off to civilians (and me too).
Air strikes has started already, actually increased the pace they are routine in the area.
The operation is joint with ISAF who are expected to hold positions at border not to allow anyone running back. However, history says cruel fact about any such operations co-operated with ISAF.

the militans getting afraid and participating in peace jirga or laying down their arms was highly unlickely-
As all military strategist will do- we should hv solely prepared and planned for the inevitable- keeping the element of surprise-
this strategic blunder will cost us some valuable lives-
we shpuld hv learned from the past experience what happens if you make a peace deal-
last time we tried it happened and the concequences are for all to see- the militants regrouped planned and came make much stronger for any Pak Rmy offensive-

well good luck our soldiers our prayers are with u without a doubt this is attempt to get them to have peace talks but i dont think it will work there is only one language these guys understand and that comes from the end of the gun i say go with the operation it has been long overduetime to finish and show america we finished something you started and we have a way to get out of this nightmare something the US wants desperately
