If thats the reason why not wait for LCH a little bit( 2 years is quite little compared to other delays) and then buy more LCH instead of rudras and during a war LCH can escort the choppers taking supply.
And since LCH is a pure gunship it will be better in this job too.And do we have any kind of offensive weapons on Dhruvs like Black hawks have machine guns on it??

If IA gets enough Rudra's they could be our own 'Hueys' of vietname fame. Hueys started out as light transport and earned its fame as an assault helicopter.

I think IA is inducting the ALH Rudras exclucively for western and northern borders where as they're planning to get 114 LCHs for deployment along LAC in NE.Hope IAF this time shows professionalism and let the AAC induct the LCHs,stepping aside its ego.Heck AAC even provided the funding for development of LCH and they truely deserve this.There is simply no point of handing over the gunships to IAF.
