Army orders ALCOTAN Shoulder Fired Anti Tank Weapon System

In situation like LOC where India is sitting on there side and our boys are sitting on our side. I think this is great weapon I mean Aloctan 100 but in time of war when enemy soldiers are moving forward with Tanks and IFV and APC sorry but this weapons take lot more time to disassemble and reassemble to be ready to fire again. In other words in active moving war there is still no replacement for either RPG 7 of Russia and Carl Gaustav of Sweden.
No Hazrat It doesn't take a lot of time, Think about it! For one second, Become Fauji Hazrat Zarvan.
  1. Fauji Hazrat Zarvan has a Carl Gustav Which is a recoilless rifle a long tube that needs a loader the loader has to first take the round out of the casing then prep it it it needs then load it. Once loaded he has to inform Fauji Hazrat to fire it. Then Fauji Hazrat Zarvan has to take aim and fire.
  2. Fauji Hazrat Zarvan has to fire ALCOTAN 100. Fauji Hazrat Zarvan picks up the aiming sight attaches to the rocket takes aim and fire.
Tell me which is easier to use? One needs two people the other is just picked up and fired. Carl Gustav you still need to carry launcher and ammo. ALCOTAN just carry sight and tubes.

I am thinking like a solider who is in middle of war. I want a weapon which is lighter to carry and I can place Rocket in it and fire. On the other hand in case of a disposable weapon like Alotcan 100 I have to fire a weapon than I have disassemble entire weapon or even two major parts than put new one together and fire again. So I want a weapon which I fire immediately put another rocket in it and than fire again. In this process I may take 8 to 10 seconds but in disassembling and than re assembling it may take 20 seconds that is big difference. Also because of rockets being in big tubes a soldier would be able to carry 3 to 4 rocket and its tubes at maximum but in case of RPG 7 or even Carl Gustav a soldier may be able to carry double ammo.

A year or two I was talking to few guys who told me that there is no good replacement of RPG 7. Even if we get a new weapon RPG 7 will still be in use. I didn't understood there point than because I had no clue about disposable thing and may be they assumed I know about it. But now I understand why they said it and I can't agree more.

Hazrat how much does each tube loaded with rocket weigh? How much does the ammo of carl gustav weigh? More importantly YOU Hazrat are not carrying it! Lets be honest.

Now what the hell are you talking about? Hazrat what is this disassembling bollocks you are talking about? It's a rocket in a canister not a engine that you have to disassemble.:lol::lol: You attach a sight and fire. So the RPG-32 you like works the same way you attach the sight and to a TUBE and fire it.

Hazrat Click on this website scroll and see how quickly the weapon is ready to fire! Honestly you are a clown :jester:

In Aloctan 100 the box in which scope and other thing are placed remains the same but you have to change the entire tube that takes time Sir. But when you fire RPG 7 you fire the rocket and immediately place new rocket in the launcher and fire. And yes that reduces the weight. And yes soldier has to carry the ammo. Ghosts won't carry for them so if a soldier is carry huge tube although rocket inside it than yes tube he weight and rocket in that tube also increases the weight but RPG 7 rounds not in any tube and you can carry them easily. If you can't get it go watch youtube videos of RPG 7 being fire more than one time in video and a disposable weapon being fired you would see it yourself.

Hazrat Let me repeat as I said again in a post above! RPG-7 is a outdated weapon that is no longer effective against modern armor and bunkers. You are now arguing for the sake of arguing. Even the Soviets began to make more powerful RPG and they made RPG-29 and RPG-32. what is the concern you have with carrying tubes with rockets?

You can fire 5 or 6 RPG-7 and achieve nothing! Or Fire One large calibre RPG like ALCOTAN 100 and destroy the target.

It saves the soldier carrying unnecessary things when one shot can eliminate the threat.

RPG 29 and 32 are disposable tube based system just to add.

Let me remind you until you come up with a weapon which is as portable as RPG 7 and as easy to reload and refire as RPG 7 and its ammo also doesn't need tubes to carry them sorry but RPG 7 is not going any where no matter How much you and I want it to go.

It has nothing to do with portability Hazrat. It's about seeing the threat and eliminate it. You are now barging with RPG-7 however the Army has evolved its thinking. They rather see a threat pickup a weapon that will hit accurately and destroy it because it is a larger calibre weapon than RPG-7!!!

Army has realised this and moved ahead with modern times I suggest Hazrat you move away from RPG-7 as well.

Army buying few 100 Aloctan 100 doesn't mean Army is taking it as replacement of RPG 7. RPG-7 still would be main weapon and these disposable weapons will be only in limited numbers or far less than RPG-7. I want RPG-7 to go more than you but sorry until something special comes up RPG -7 is not going any where. These disposable weapons are not going to replace RPG-7 but will provide some extra firepower to our soldiers on LOC.

Hazrat what is the length of panzerfaust? It is also disposable!!!

In its 2015-2016 report, the Pakistan Ministry of Defence Production (MoDP) disclosed that the Pakistan Army bought recoilless Alcotán-100 anti-tank rocket systems from the Spanish defence vendor Instalaza

In an order valued $24.75 million U.S., Pakistan ordered 158 VOSEL (M2) fire control systems and 1,413 Alcotán AT (M2) 100 mm anti-tank rockets.

Instalaza lists the VOSEL (M2) as a reusable fire control unit with an integrated night vision-capable system that provides the gunner with a “future aiming point to maximize … hit probability” against moving targets. As per Instalaza, future aiming is attained by calculating the target’s position and trajectory, measuring the propellant temperature and calculating the projectile trajectory.

The Alcotán AT rocket has an effective range of 600 m and can penetrate up to 700 mm in steel armour and explosive reactive armour (ERA). Combined, the VOSEL (M2) and Alcotán-100 weigh 14.5 kg (with the Alcotán-100 weighing 10.5 kg).

Notes & Comments:

Instalaza marketed the Alcotán-100 at Pakistan’s biennial defence exhibition, IDEAS, in November. It had partnered with the Pakistani company Metal Engineering Works to market the system in Pakistan.

Unlike the Saab Carl Gustaf M3/M4 and even Instalaza’s C90, the Alcotán is a single-shot/use system. In other words, the rocket and rocket-launcher are one munition; once the rocket is fired, the launcher is discarded. However, the VOSEL (M2) sight is reusable. The advantage with these kinds of systems (as advertised with the similar Saab AT4) is that a single-shot system is cheaper – and simpler – to manufacture. Despite being a large-calibre munition (i.e. 100 mm) it is also relatively light, enabling the user to ferry the same by foot.

Munitions such as the Alcotán-100 are infantry-use weapons for multiple threats including, among others, enemy vehicles and bunkers. The optional Alcotán BIV (M2) and Alcotán ABK (M2) munitions provide dual anti-armour and fragmentation and anti-bunker capabilities, respectively.

Hazrat why are you getting so worked up? Why are you so concerned for RPG-7? I have said it again and again you seem to only look at things in one direction.

Now Hazrat if a target needs to be destroyed do you fire 3-5 RPG-7 at it or do you fire one ALCOTAN 100 at it? Why would you waste time and put your troops in danger?
I know and look How much time the soldiers have to take to put the weapon together and if a soldier has to do it every time in active war than sorry but it is not good.

Hazrat how long does it take to load an RPG-7? You are trying to sell your last argument that it is somehow quicker? RPG-7 needs to be prepped as well loaded into the tube before firing!

I don't know how you intended to win your argument by saying RPG-7 is ultra quick is misleading.

Lol, bhai u are mixing gorrila war with conventional one......
Maybe I didn't explain very well but one things for certain, 22nd century will be the century of superinfantry. In the centuries after that this term won't be used because it will become the norm.

Whenever a thing becomes "super" it takes just a little while before measures to counter it also become "super", ponder on that.
