What's new

Army is a little too private

Read what is "classified" and "de-classified" open information. It is as simple as that, if you don't get it then there is nothing I can do about that.
OP is not asking for classified information....
he is simply saying that if the us army can reveal a few things about it self why not pakistan?? like the same things the US army revealed.

All the information the OP wants is "in" the public domain. I.E.: Defence.pk or google chacha.

. .
ok then recommend him some sources. thats what he is asking.

lol stop quoting me. That is what Google is for, as it says in the bible: seek and ye shall find. If you are so passionate about it why don't you stop quoting me, put your money where your mouth is and recommend some links. I cba with this.

Please don't tag or quote me again regarding this subject.

so i was reading these Tom Clancy books (Guided Tours of various branches of U.S military) and it got me wondering, why is there a lack of authentic books like these on Pakistani military? i mean wouldn't it be great to know the training, traditions ,history etc of our various regiments, corps and units. As a civilian with a great passion for the PA i am positively dismayed to find no authentic work on our army's structure, its heritage, its working, how the insignia for units , battalions ,brigades etc are devised ,what are the nicknames and mottos of these units you know things like these.so i think it would help citizens a lot to better relate and identify with our military. what do you people think?
P.S: if there is any kind of work done in this regard kindly inform me about it.thanks

We do have documentaries, plenty of them. Good book banks stock DVDs from ISPR, you can also find them on Daily motion and Youtube.
The best I can find are those two bit silly movies with bad acting, awful effects and terrible music in the background called "documentaries".
When you search "Pakistan Army" you see those stupid TOP TEN 10 ARMIZ OF DA WORLD,
or something like PAKISTAN ARMY BEST ARMY 2015 VIDEO when it is mostly a slideshow with pictures from the 90s
or you see something like "isrelio armee vs da pakistan arme" or "indiun armee vs pakistun armee" or the rest is all news shit and talk shows.
And I swear in every comment section there is that India-Pakistan flame war all over the place. then there are the indians who set up fake accounts with western names to criticize the army...

Please refer to my post 14 mins ago. Thank you.

The ISPR ones are the ones with bad music, bad acting, bad effects mashed up into a video called a documentary.
They should actually make documentaries instead of short films.

Write to them buddy, their contact details are on the website.

Tom Clancy is fiction.
he does write fiction but i was referring to his non-fiction work i.e the guided tours he did with john grisham.

He's not looking for the anti-state anti-army bullcrap that a certain section of the Pakistani public keeps rambling about.

Army is nothing more than the security guards of the country. Their job is to protect the country from external threats and they get paid for that from the taxpayers. The tax payers have every right to question their activities, reduce their funding, replace them or fire them as they please. For that we have the defense minister who is supposed to manage our "security department" and keep them accountable for their activities.

It's a simple employer-employee relation. Don't get all emotional over it.

Very interesting how you say that "the public rambles about anti-state bullcrap". As if the state and the public are two different things.

THE STATE=THE PUBLIC.
PAKISTAN= ∑ EVERY PAKISTANI.

Every Pakistani has the right to question how his representatives are running the country. And he certainly has the right to discuss amongst other things how the security guards are being managed.

Funny how you're a pro-"state" person but you don't know the Duty of the Army or the oath they take.
When you take the oath in the Army, you say "I will protect Pakistan from Internal and External Threats". The Pakistani Army is not like your western countries Armies. The Constitution let's the Army to do what it wants, If the Government asks for it. Not all of the Army is like Zia-Ul-Haq. I'm sure his intentions were the best, but we got radicalized in the wrong way. You pro state liberals should The understand that. If the Army has to step in, like when Musharraf did, they have to make a decision to either save the Constitution or the State. If you save the Constitution the State will no longer exist therefore the second option is best for you, even if the you don't understand.

If those dirty politicians should come above the Army, we'd be overrun by India years ago.
Look at Nawaz Sharif. He ordered our forces to retreat when we were next to solving the Kashmir conflict once and for all. Most of the casualties suffered were during the retreat where we were shot in the back.

Oh yeah, speaking of Tax, how much of Tax do you think the current defence minister pays? Or the rest of the politicians and people.
