Army gave befitting reply to Pakistan on beheading of soldiers: Gen Bikram Singh

Yes. 1948 War Pakistan faced a 10 times bigger Indian Army but captured 24% of Kashmir.

10 Time big army is your dream. our army was evacuating Kashmir when idiot naheru took the issue to UN.

1965 War Pakistan captured 2200 square miles of Indian TeTerritory in Punjab & Rajistan and after the UN ceasefire was returned to India.

We had reached to Lahore and we had captured 4 time larger area than you did. Had ceasefire would not have taken place we would have got four time larger area. You could not accomplish your target of capturing Kashmir.

In Kargil Pakistan penetrated 6 km into Kargil and had Baldy Nawaz Shareef not come under pressure from World leaders to exit, we taught your Army another lesson.

Your northern light infantry battalion wiped out. Had US not intervened, you would have lost much more soldiers and territory.

Ya we lost 1971 to our own Bengali traitors. When I visited Asad Kashmir it showed my the power of Pakistan and its armed forces

Fine since you accept that, I do not want to bring to your focus some hard facts of 1971 war like how your 70000 army surrender to few thousand soldiers and many more.

Sabre rattling: New Indian chief issues warning to Pakistan
Sabre rattling: New Indian chief issues warning to Pakistan – The Express Tribune

On his first day in office, Indian army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Friday warned Pakistan that India’s response to any beheading-like incident in the future would be “more than adequate, intense and immediate”, The Times of Indiareported.

“I can tell you that our response to any such act will be more than adequate in future. It will be intense and immediate,” he told reporters after his welcome guard of honour as chief of army staff.

The new army chief was asked how India gave a ‘befitting reply’ to Pakistan after the alleged beheading of Indian soldier Lance Naik Hemraj along the Line of Control in Poonch sector on January 8, 2013. Previous army chief General Bikram Singh had on Thursday stated that India had given a ‘befitting reply’ to Pakistan after the incident.

“It has been done. Please understand that when we use force, that use is from tactical to operational to strategic levels, which have been undertaken. I think this has been done by the local commander, the chiefs have nothing to do with it,” Gen Singh had said.

The Indian side has accused Pakistani special forces of beheading Hemraj and mutilating the body of Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh.

In 2013, talks between military officials from Pakistan and India ended in a stalemate with the two sides accusing each other of violating the ceasefire at the LoC in the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region.

Pakistan strongly rejected Indian allegations that its troops resorted to unprovoked fire, attacked any Indian army post or killed Indian soldiers, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) at the time.

As per the UN, which obviously was the broker in the ceasefire and peace talks after the 65 war, Pakistan was in possession of approx. 1600 square miles of Indian territory and India was in possession of 400 sq miles of Pakistani territory. Obviously the total area is not what is important, rather who has the more strategic real estate.

The very same can be said about excessive casualties in countless Indian battalions that were on the receiving end of fire trying to remove well dug-in troops. In any war, the ratio of casualties is much higher on the attacking side than the defending one.

Another falsehood that is peddled in India about the 1971 war without realizing the situation on the East Pakistan side where the ratio was 1:15 in India's favour. This was no mean feat of arms when you have such excessive superiority. Reminds me of Montogomery's preparation at Al-alamein given the dire situation of the Germans by then. What happened in 1971 was essentially a mirror of that.
