LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the Pakistan Army is our own Army. It is the crown of our heads, and generals and jawans are our brothers, who have rendered supreme sacrifices for the defence of the country.
According to a handout issued here, he was addressing a meeting of party workers at Dhir Kot, District Bagh, and a public meeting in Lipa valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
He said whether it was the snowy peaks of Siachen or the sweltering deserts, the Pakistan Army had defended the country on every front.
He said the PML-N was opposed to those generals who disintegrated the country or signed the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to cover up the crimes and loot and plunder of Asif Zardari. He said there would be a dawn of a new era in Azad Kashmir on June 26 as the victory of the Pakistan Muslim League-N and its allies would bring about a revolution and a pleasant change in the area.
Shahbaz said the PML-N victory on June 26 would be a proverbial death knell for the politics of Zardari and his cronies. He said the PPP should realise that the party of Benazir Bhutto was being led by such a person who had looted and plundered the public money. He said he could say under oath that Zardari had looted the money of the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir and deposited it in Swiss banks. He said had this money been spent on the people of Azad Kashmir, the area would have become another Switzerland.
Shahbaz said if the PML-N government was formed in Azad Kashmir, problems of the people would be resolved within five years. Shahbaz Sharif said looters of the Punjab Bank, NICL and Hajis, Qabza mafia and gangs of thieves and dacoits were with Asif Zardari.
He said Musharraf was the guru of Zardari and Zardari was the guru of Musharraf and their disciples were roaming about with them. He said if the PML-N candidates were elected to the AJK Assembly to form the government, Daanish School, Aashiyana and Mobile Hospital schemes would also be started in these areas.
The Punjab CM alleged that the PPP had made a plan for rigging the Azad Kashmir elections. He said he knew that votes of even dead persons were being cast on bogus lists and cancelled identity cards but the Peoples Party should know that it is not the election of 1977. He said those attempting to buy votes and conscience of the people of Azad Kashmir are living in a fools paradise.
He said Federal Minister Manzoor Wattoo was distributing heavy amounts to win the elections in Azad Kashmir. He said he was awarded three-year imprisonment for such activities in the past and if he did not refrain from such tactics, he would have to undergo 30 years sentence this time.
