The officer seemed to be very exited while talking about the Arjun MkI.His comments like 'it's considered to be among world's best tanks', 'it has got tremendous armor protection', 'it can take anything out there','it is virtually impenetrable to any anti tank ammunition','it can run at 50 km/hr in desert and when on road 70 km/hr quite easily' etc are clearly indicating toward his satisfaction to this giant,more than those T's out there.Hope IA will induct the MkII in greater nos.

Arjun MKI failed, failed pretty hard, everyone knows it.
For a MBT in 2011, it is never about whether you can move 70km/h on road. check some basics before buying such propaganda.

Arjun MKII looks fancy on paper/spec, however, india is not going to mass produce it as it is just too expensive.

Type-99A2 is way better than Arjun MKII, probably 50% cheaper, still it is considered by China as too expensive. remind you that China's defense budget is a few times higher than india.

The T-90 is good.

The T-72: aging.

The Arjun: not bad for a heavy tank, but expensive. I think it would have been better if they went for Leopard 2 along with ToT options.

Bro,the Leopard 2A4 is even costlier that Arjun MkI.Besides,Arjun MkI is already better than the Leopard 2A4.So why do we even need to licence manufacture an inferior tank at greater cost when better indigenous tank is available????
