Most East Asians have problem with the English "r" and the Spanish "r" and rolled "r".
Most Chinese have no problem with English "R",because Mandarin speakers make up 70% of Chinese population, especially the northeast Mandarin, there are some many "r"s in northeast Mandarin

Vietnamese has no problem on the issue. Actually, "r" made us spit out our mouth water, so is it impolite somewhere to use that ?

China, Argentina to jointly build nuclear power plant in Argentina
English.news.cn | 2015-02-05
BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Ministers of China and Argentina have signed a deal to build a nuclear power plant for Argentina, said China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Thursday.

Nur Bekri, deputy head of the NDRC and head of the National Energy Administration (NEA) and Argentina's minister in charge of public investment Julio De Vido on Wednesday signed an agreement to build a pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plant in Argentina, according the NDRC website.

The two also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on building a heavy water reactor (HWR) for Argentina, said the statement.

Japanese have no problem saying 'R', but there is no 'L' sound in Japanese lexicon. Tho, if we speak English, we can pronounce the 'L', just that there are no 'L' sounds in Japanese.

China nuclear firm inks tech agreement with Argentina - China.org.cn
China Daily, February 6, 2015

China National Nuclear Corp, China's largest nuclear power plant operator, said on Thursday it will export its third-generation technology to Argentina under a bilateral agreement.

This will be the first time for China to export nuclear technology to Latin America, and analysts said that such deals will become a new growth driver for the nation's exports.

The deal was signed in Beijing by Nur Bekri, head of the National Energy Administration and Julio De Vido, Argentina's minister of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services, on Wednesday. The ceremony was witnessed by President Xi Jinping and Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.

Later, Fernandez said on Twitter that the Reactor IV and Reactor V will require investment of $5.8 billion and $7 billion, respectively.

Reactor IV, a heavy-water model, will import 30 percent of its components and parts. Reactor V will import 50 percent of components, she said.

Ma Yi, an expert at China Nuclear Power Engineering Co, said that the ACP1000, China's domestically developed pressurized-water nuclear reactor, is likely to be used for Reactor V.

Argentina already operates three nuclear power stations that use technology from Germany and Canada. Allowing Chinese companies to participate in new plants means China's nuclear technology can be competitive with its Western peers, said experts.

The ACP1000 nuclear power reactor passed the Generic Reactor Safety Review by the International Atomic Energy Agency in December. The reactor is the core technology of the Hualong One, the third-generation nuclear reactor jointly developed by the CNNC and China General Nuclear Power Group.

"The technology is relatively mature," said Ma, adding China has two nuclear plants planned for the Hualong One technology: Fuqing in Fujian province and Fangchenggang in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

China also has built up substantial experience in running CANDU-type reactors. These are heavy-water models based on Canadian technology that are popular in Argentina, said Ma.

Chinese style English depends on which province one came from and the pronunciation of local dialect. hard to generalize.

i thought you can do 'L', but not 'R'?
Japanese i encountered all had problems with the Mandarin 'R'. speaking of the Japanese stereotype of Chinese using 'aru', while it's actually Mandarin 'er'.

The Argentine president seems to a country bumpkin. If she doesn't clean up her act, then her Argentina will continue to be gang banged by the UK, US, France, and other NATO nations. She has a choice to make: (A) Continue to stay on all fours while pretending to be the top dog, or (B) learn some new lessons and develop better relations around the world to fix Argentina's many flaws.

For starters, she needs to (1) stop rubbing cake all over her face, (2) quit stuffing cake down her throat, and (3) go on more walks.

Means Madam never intend to share this to Chinese people.

Some people in Vietnam pronounce "L" instead of "N" and vice versa.
For example "Lihonjin" instead of "Nihonjin"

It's only Cantonese people (like myself) that have a problem with the "r" sound, since the "r" sound does not exist in Cantonese.

However, the "r" sound is very common in Mandarin so they don't have problems with it.

Regardless, business is business, if Argentina can provide good returns they will continue to get investment.

他们不知道北京的儿话 :D

They don't know The "er" of Beijing

Mandarin on the other hand has the "r" sound and the "sh" sound, and other sounds found in English. That's why it's easier for Mandarin speakers to learn English, and for foreigners to learn Mandarin.

For me the most difficult or i should say what i cannot pronounce correctly at all even after 4 years of self study is the "yv" and to differentiate between sh like in 是 and x like in 谢.

as much as I hate De Kirchner it's kinda funny.
it's not racist but I guess some Chinese or Asians in general would throw a hissy fit

most of you can't pronounce R's right... It's nothing to be ashamed of :D
:bounce::bounce::bounce:
I'm sure foreigners and especially white people sound funny trying to speak Mandarin.

Different problem. As far as I know, Japanese have trouble with the "L" sound, which is easily noticeable when you see them speaking Mandarin.

They have literally the opposite problem that Cantonese have.

Reminds me of the Chinese girl and the teacher in "mind your language" of late 70s, and there is a scene in which while discussing with the Chinese girl about her marrying with Ali the Pakistani, the teacher gets confused after hearing her and ends up saying a sentence replacing all the Rs in it with Ls and vice versa un-intentionally. :D

....you lot are talking about ENGLISH "R" or SPANISH "R"

Cos nobody, beside Russian, Portugese and some French used Spanish R, everybody elses uses English R

The different? Spanish R is not exactly R, but ERR and we call it rolling R, and beside R, Spanish also have the sound RR. Just the same as we say the character S, while Spanish say that ES

On topic, She is a dick, as far as I know , a lot of Argentinian hate her but they cant do anything to her anyway as A, she WILL KILL THEM, like the time she disappear that spanish journalist, B, this is her last term and she simply, dont care
