Madamji, 16 Indian soldiers died due to surprise attack of BDR & i agree to the no. of deaths, but the member claiming 97 IA soldiers death is really laughable, there is no way BD can kill 97 Indian soldiers without facing the wrath of India.
so yo mean to say only death of IA soldiers deserve the wrath of india not those 16 bsf soldiers or any other indian.how about the wrath of india for captain Kalia or how about the wrath of india for 166 killed in mumbai and across different cities all over india.how about the wrath of india for those exploited poor in red corridor by the people in power.

But Delhi ruler dont have spine to show any wrath .wrath word is not even their dictionary. They can only show wrath on indian citizens only by exploiting them.Btw it was so called BJP which was ruling delhi when those BSF soldiers were killed and gutless spineless rulers of BJP did same ie typing protest note and lobbing across the boder.

Why stop trolling there? We can take this further...

10) Bangladeshis annexed all of Indian North East, thanks to extreme bravery of the Bangladesh Air Force which destroyed the IAF.

11) Bangladesh sent out its Frigates and Air Craft carriers and wreaked havoc all across the Southern and Eastern Parts of Indian coast. Bangladesh had conquered all of Bihar, UP and Weste Bengal.

12) Bangladesh returned to the former glory of the Muslim Empire, annexing Delhi by outfighting all the Indian soldiers with their 4 feet 11 inch soldiers.

13. Having Defeated India, Bangladesh decide to take on US and invade US with their superior Air Force and then ground force.

14. Within 5 days of fighting US forces surrender to mighty BD army.

15. BD army dare any one to fight them but all world power are afraid.

At least we have not allowed drone attacks on our land like pakistan politician has done for some US dollar.
We show them respect, not like Pakistan who refuse to take their dead soldiers in kargil. On their side they have to throw them in night in front of their home in Gilgit balistan.

Well, i don't know how Indian Govt. Managed it, but the commander who was in charge of that attack said it was well above 100.i But couldn't find the link, it was published in Bengali daily, which one i forgot!

ANy proof of that? he can say even 10,000 or 1,00,000 no's you believe him? I have told by govt that your PM fly to India that Night and ask INdian PM to spare life of BD. now can you believe this?

No Indian govt can hide anything from Public , India is democratic and everyone has answerable to other.....

Good that you believe your country hide nothing from you! I am not interested in posting posts after post answering same thing... its an open secret in BD army. Now whether you believe it or not its your problem.

The report has a few errors and inconsistencies. I will not correct them line after line, but will describe the then situation at the border.

1) Pyrduah was a part of east Pakistan. But, during the 1971 war of independence India took away this land. GoB and BDR protested it with India, and subsequently there was an agreement that until the matter is settled, it will remain with India. However, India may not construct any permanent structures, such as road, bridge, watch tower there.

2) In the beginning of 2001 BDR watched India building a road that leads to the BSF camp. BSF did not heed to BDR appeal and said the decision was made at the upper political level, and, therefore, BD should engage the GoI to settle the issue.

3) On the night of (probably) 13th March a few BDR troops entered the BSF camp, captured the troops and declared the area a part of Bangladesh.

4) GoI and and the Indian public became furious at that. SHW was under Indian pressure to vacate the land and release the BSF troops. 3000 to 4000 BSF and IA troops amassed at that border within a few hours after the day break. BDR also assembled some 300 troops of its own to face IA while political dialogue was continuing. SHW agreed to Indian proposal that the area be vacated, BSF troops be released and the issue be settled at the political level. BDR released the BSF troops and vacated Pyrduah.

5) Every one thought the matter was settled. But, IA took the matter seriously. It decided to capture the 13 BDR troops at Baraibari border, far away from Pyrduah, in order to take revenge of Pyrduah. IA amassed a total of 800 troops out of which 400 crossed international border to attack the BDR BoP at the dead of dark night of (probably) 16th April.

6) A teenage boy, ordered by his father, was in the field to check if the level of irrigation water was sufficient or not. They were planning to take the pump macine in the next morning.

7) This is how this young boy saw the movement of IA troops at far. He ran under the shade of trees and informed about the matter to his elders, who ran to the Border Outpost and informed the BDR about the IA intrusion.

8) The CO with the approval of his 12 colleagues decided not to vacate the land, but fight the agressors. They prayed a quick one or two Raqat Namaz, asked for forgiveness to Allah, embraced each other knowing it was their last meet, no chance they would comeback alive after the battle.

9) So, the battle was between valiant 13 BDR and 400 IA troops. The BDR CO ordered his troops to scatter in the left and right. When the IA troops were about 80m away, he ordered firing. 97 IA troops were killed in that battle, but the retreating IA troops took most of the bodies away. !6 bodies remained in the Bangladesh land. BDR troops made a new history.

Half truths and half lies. If 97 troops had been killed as u claim, next morning there would have been a bombardmant with a invasion of border areas.
Moreover buddy there is no proof for that. 97 is a huge number. The GoI nor the IA will sit quietly after this,.
Moreover 97 Indian soldiers famiily wont keep it quiet. Media would have madi it big. its impossible to hide such numbers under carpet.

weren't the 2 martyrs supposed to be named Bir Shreshtho? why did they not get entitled with that yet? :tsk:

IA dead numbered 97(Ninety Seven), most of whom were carried away by their colleagues as per the established military law throughout the world. There is a standing order and there are trainings to carry the deads and wounded if the situation is right. The GoI tricked Indians to believe there were only 16 dead.

So, my question is if there were only 16 dead, then why these 16 were not carried away? The answer is, there were many more deads and IA could carry away 81 of them and failed to carry the 16 who remained in BD land. To one Indian, who asked me about my source, I ask him to find out the truth from IA and BSF sources.

@animelive, two BDR troops faced Shahadat on the spot. The other wounded was carried to a hospital with wound at the shoulder, but he also became a Shaheed. So, it was three. But, I just do not know if they had received any Khetabs from the GoB.

The IA troops entered our sovereign land seeking a revenge for their early humiliation in Pirduah when BDR captured BSF troops and declared Pirduah as part of BD. IA amassed more than 3000 troops after the capture of Pyrduah by a small number of BDR, but this large number of IA troops did not fight against the BDR strengthened to 300 troops in the next day.

IA troops sought an easy victory and an easy revenge in Baraibari Border Outpost, manned by only 13 troops. The point here is when these 13 braves faced the 400 strong IA troops they did it by knowing they will certainly killed, yet they fought. But, the IA troops eneterd BD land with the wish of killing their enemies, but, not to be killed. There is a big difference in the attitudes of two groups.

BDR troops were ready to die and probably the short Namaaz prayer made them more ferocious before they started fighting. Similar things happened in 1965 Pakistan-India war in Khemkaran, when only a company of East Bengal Regiment troops fought a half division Indian troops. Only four could not manage to become Shaheed.

Big difference between 16 BSF men getting killed vs 97 IA men getting killed.

As far as I know, IA doesnt even have to worry about BD border because BSF is enough for their whole nation.

The fatigues wore by the troops were not of BSF. it was IA fatigue. Why do you think IA does not go to the border? Do you think your BSf will fight ever against BDR? BSF can fight only dead trees.

1. Bangladesh can never invade militarily far superior India, however nor can India carry out a successful invasion + occupation of Bangladesh.

Thus we have military parity in this respect.

2. India turns a blind eye to Tamil fishermen being killed regularly by Sri Lankan naval forces.

3. If our governments and leaders were sincere and not compromised (as both the BNP and Awami League are) they could also behave like Sri Lanka.

4. The Indian regime and especially state terrorist organization, RAW, know all too well what they suffered and how many Indian soldiers died.

Bangles wearing BSF cowardness was exposed on that faithful day. Indians being the cowards they are will only run into hiding when it comes to arms conflict and orchestrate massacres with the help of their awami dalals. That has been the nature of India since its birth.
BTW why the hell are we even replying to trolling indians in this thread?

As always indians are talking nonsense. In a similar thread in the past an IA officer, not with real name, told about how the 2001 Baraibari battle had unnerved the IA. This is why IA has kept on surrounding us with 300,000 troops. The conflict was an awakning time for the IA. BDR made the bravest possible stand against a far stronger battle troops fully expecting a death for themselves.

If 97 IA dead like the joker said was actually true, we would have made Bangladesh into such a situation that 1971 would have been an amusement park experience for them.

Its mostly BSF that does whatever it does in BD border, never used IA there.

So, come and try it now. why talk big you bloody indian when in one bullet 10 indians die!! One by the bullet and the other 9 by the sound of firing!! Indians want to teach us how to fight!! Come on!!

If India attempted to invade Bangladesh the following would happen.

1. Jihad would be declared all over the world against India.

2. Kashmiri separatists would up their war.

3. The pro-Bangladeshi wing of ULFA would work with the Bangladeshi military to weaken the Indian army.

The Sigiluri corridor would be destroyed and north-east India would be cut off from mainland India and Bangladeshi guerillas and ULFA would jointly eliminate isolated Indian soldiers.

4. Bangladeshi forces would provide support to Maoists to escalate their war against the military including if possible a Maoist ground offensive to capture Delhi and Calcutta.

5. Even if India won the war they would basically have another Kashmir x 50 i.e. a Muslim-majority region occupied by Indian soldiers as Kashmir is but with a far greater population.

6. India would forever lose its reputation in the "third world" for being a peaceful non-imperialist state.

7. The Awami League and its pro-India, pro-Hindu ideology would be dead forever

8. Bangladesh once inevitably expelling Indian forces would then once its independence is restored work to get nuclear bombs and missiles and a powerful ballistic system that could wipe out Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai if necessary.

9. The war with Bangladesh would bankrupt India as the war with Vietnam did to the US and the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing now.

10. India would eventually disintegrate as secessionists inspired by the inevitable N.E Indian independence struggle (in this scenario the N.E. of India would be isolated virtually immediately).

11. Indians even if united would live in shame and humiliation for a thousand years (as some of the Hindutva extremists do about Muslim rule in India) at this defeat in the same way the Pakistanis feel bitter about their defeat in 1971.
