Worst thing about graduate study is the isolation. You no longer have a bunch of friends/classmates to socialise with and work on the same project/assignments like the undergraduate days.

Everyone's doing their own ish at graduate level. The obligatory graduate seminars is boring as heck when you dont really care about other people's project.

New Brunswick, mainly related to Nanophotonics and negative refractive index Metamaterials, even Graphene based nanoelectronics device fabrication and characterization is pretty much fine with me.

What are my chances, with 3.668 GPA, 1 publication in ACS (2nd author) and in the process of publishing 2 more, and with strong recommendation.

For Rutgers? The academic selection board will like the fact that you're already published, remember to prep for the interview , you're most probably going to meet Bratynski and Chou. Dress to impress.
