Are we tampering with nature beyond a point ?

Seeing the kind of natural calamities that appear to be happening with greater frequency one cannot help but feel the following :

Widespread mining, drilling for oil, natural gas etc must be making a change below. Though I am not a Scientist or a Technical person but as a lay man I feel oil, gas , coal etc must be occupying space down below. Their removal must be creating an imbalance in the ' foundations'.

Could the earthquakes, sumamis etc be a result of this ? Really, mother earth shakes a lot more these days than before.

Earthquakes and Tsunamis are here from the beginning of Earth. Since humans evolved only recently, we are facing its bad effects only now. The increase/decrease of temperature too is not a new phenomenon. Earth witnessed so many of these extremes.

But the problem is that, in the case of Earth, everything was going in equilibrium until humans came in to the picture. I believe the current increase in earth temperature is man made or humans got a major share in it.
