Before you get taken up by the usual scare tactics about Iran, since the Islamic revolution in 1979, has Iran attacked anyone? Iran has territorial issues with many countries in the region including UAE and KSA (while it has none with Israel), yet it has never taken the military route. Why would it try that out on Israel? With a nuclear capability, a detente is possible which is currently absent in the region thus this idiotic talk of preemptive tactical nuclear strikes against another sovereign nation.

Iranians are fairly highly educated (better literacy rates than Pakistan and India) and reasonable in the world of diplomacy and the Iranian civilization is as old as those of China and India, if not older. I think we should give them some credit and realize that in the Middle East, what is spoken does not exactly mean what is being said. Secondly, there is a big difference between Iranians and the illogical and semi-literate Taliban psyche.

The last thing Iranians want is to go and destroy another country. Their quest for nuclear capability is driven by their own insecurity. I wonder what it feels like when a superpower and its local proxy are constantly threatening to take military action all the while you are embargoed economically? I am sure it will spawn at least some level of insecurity and mistrust of the others (Israel and US primarily).

According to media reports Israel is planning to use their earth penetrating tactical nuclear weapons can take out Iranian nuclear infrastructure. India has similar plans on an ‘only if needed’ basis.

Israel has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons, Britain's Sunday Times newspaper said. Citing what it said were several Israeli military sources, the paper said two Israeli air force squadrons had been training to blow up an enrichment plant in Natanz using low-yield nuclear "bunker busters." Two other sites, a heavy water plant at Arak and a uranium conversion plant at Isfahan, would be targeted with conventional bombs, the Sunday Times said. According to sources, India has similar capabilities and have plans to neutralize Paksitan’s nuclear capabilities in similar way.
