Arab nations can learn from Malaysia

The best thing about Malaysia and Indonesia is separation of politics and religion to a good extent.. They have moderate and progressive outlook and that is something lots of other countries take lessons on..

Agreed however they aren't close to the ME and Turkey is the only successful country Balancing Islam, Democracy, Secularism and has a very good economy if Malaysia and Indonesia were close then we would hail them :P.

Ok I GTG to bed I got exams,

.
No doubt Turkey is another good example to learn from.. I guess if middle-east follows either turkey/Indonesia/Malaysia foot-step then it will turn into something real nice.. ME is already cash rich all they need is to have their people to actually work and develop moderate mindset among the populace and that's it most of their problems, internal conflicts will be gone.. But unfortunately these words are easier said then done :)

.
How do you expect a nation that only recently became self-sufficient in school teachers to rule the world?? If anything we should build a huge economy not a one based on oil but based on knowledge that we can take on the world with first.

Yes, I agree with this. I would really like to see Arab nations giving more importance to science and technology. The profit from oil could be used to fund researches and scientific studies and development. Arab world has ample potential, but they need to leave some of the more traditional cultures (not allowing women to drive and so forth) and move forward with the rest of the world.

.
And here is a surprise that might come to most of you.

This is HAAS which you can say is the Saudi LG which is exporting its products around the world.

Yes, it's not only about economics actually. The moderate mindset is what makes Malaysia very special.

There has never been a terrorist act, nor a terrorist from Malaysia till now. Truely blessed we are

HAAS (Home Appliances for All Seasons)...Who the hell names their company like this but hey to each their own.

.
Missing the forest for the trees, the case Rezawan is making is for moderation, which country is immaterial, neither does that mean Malaysia or Turkey do not have issues of their own.

I've visited Malaysia and Indonesia many times, for one I would like the turks and arabs to be as friendly hosts as them.

Haha, hey man, don't get me wrong, I never said anything about losing faith in "Arabs", but the truth is, Arabs have a potential to be a lot better than what it currently is, if they kept their focus on the right things instead of fighting among themselves and wasting time on trivial matters like whether a woman should vote/drive and so on.

Anyway saw the website, it's a good sign, I hope more investment comes and works out well for your sake.

And yes, agreed. Even "Mosamania Appliances" would have been a better name than HAAS :P

Yes, the key word is moderation. No one is forced to follow a way of life that they don't want to here.

You can see woman in short skirts and hijabs all in one area, and no one notices or makes an issue of anything. Our freedom is what makes me feel truely lucky to be Malaysian.

There are elements of extremism trying to seep in our culture, but as for now, the east Asian tolerant culture is still strong with us :)
