Apple to Cut iPhone X Production in the Face of Weak Demand

Perhaps one day in the future if headphone Jacks Disappear Completely, I'll have no choice but to get a phone like that, but until then, I'm probably going to stick with the Samsung Note line (Or possibly another brand with a headphone jack)
Some droids did make the stupid choice of ditching headphone jacks but thank god they are a minority
Or possibly another brand with a headphone jack)

The camera on this phone is amazing

Apple hasn't had a headphone jack since iPhone 7, which sold well. As for the fingerprint reader. If it's such a big deal, there's the iPhone 8, which still has it. The reason iPhone X doesn't have one is because it uses Face ID instead, which is a newer, and possibly, more compelling technology. But to each his own.

As for price point, you have to remember Apple products are considered at the high end of the market. People are willing to pay a premium for them. Though I own an iPhone and iPad, I never bought their computers. Just too expensive when I can get an adequate PC for a fraction of the price.

No doubt Apple has lost some appeal. When you say iPhone these days, people just aren't excited anymore.
iphones durability is very promising which wont be seen in any other brand whether its samsung, huawei or rest thats what makes apple stand put plus its ios is the safest in terms of protection from viruses. Even if apple will fizzle out it will take it another 5 years period. Not that soon.

Frankly apple has been pioneer in many things thats y i dont wish ill to this brand maker. But they need to continue innovating. And those who call apple products shytt have a biased thinking.

Btw i am an android fan too amazing features but device durability is a low point.

Bhai why headphone jack matters when they have small adapter cable coming in phone pack that connects with any headphone

Because the audio quality isn't as good as a direct headphone jack connection.

And to a lesser extent, many users aren't happy because they aren't able to listen and charge their phone at the same time.

There are also users that just don't like adopter attached to their phone phone while they're in transit and listening to music.

iPhone sales numbers dipped slightly, but revenue is up courtesy of the iPhone X

As far as sales figures go, this last quarter wasn’t entirely rosy for Apple. During today’s earnings report, the company posted sales of 77.3 million iPhones, down just under a million from this time last year. Of course, that 78.2 million figure from 2017 represented a new record for the company.

But Wall Street still expected another increase, up to 80.2 million phones for the quarter, as the company added a 10th anniversary flagship to the line. In spite of that disappointment, Apple actually saw a 13-percent bump in revenue for Q1 2018, thanks in no small part to the fact that the iPhone X represents a significant price premium over the iPhone 8 and past models. The average price per iPhone is ~$40 higher than it was this time last year.

The price premium hasn’t stopped the iPhone X from topping Apple’s own sales charts, either. An analysis of the industry recently singled out the high-end handset as the top selling phone for the holidays, in spite of failing to hit some industry goals. Today Apple added that the X has been the best-selling iPhone model since launch.

“We’re thrilled to report the biggest quarter in Apple’s history, with broad-based growth that included the highest revenue ever from a new iPhone lineup,” Tim Cook says in a press release tied to this evening’s news. “iPhone X surpassed our expectations and has been our top-selling iPhone every week since it shipped in November.”

Cook also notes that the company’s overall active installed device base just hit 1.3 billion.

Likely the company is still viewing all of this disappointment, but still a net positive. After all, revenue is really the bottom line here, even if the optics of a sales dip aren’t as cheery. Apple’s shifted to a new sales model, and even if the iPhone X wasn’t a wild success by every metric, the company’s demonstrated that people are willing to pay $999+ for a premium smartphone experience.

Yes, my Xiaomi Note 3 (and probably other high-end models, too) has it that way. Not much of a nuisance. They also sell their own brand headphones specifically for that purpose.
