Any unconstitutional step by military to oust govt not to be ratified: CJ

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said any step taken by the armed forces without the direction of the federal government would be considered unconstitutional. Addressing to the participants of National Defence University course, the Chief Justice said that the Supreme Court declared in its July 31 verdict that anybody who would violate the constitution would be considered as traitor. He said that the judges of higher courts have written in their code of conduct that no judge will take oath under PCO.

There are no chances of it now, because military has learnt a lesson. Also because they are too busy on the borders. but the problem is our political leadership hasn't learn anything from the past.

I wish we get rid of army's badobadi role in affairs of the state like Turkey did, a few years back dictator musharraf considered Turkey's constitution as its role model, which gave army power to influence and topple governments, now its the other way around 53 army officers resigned and nothing happened, no crisis and the government is delivering and people are happy !!

Turkey system is now people's role model... :)

to bell the cat is not impossible. and InshAllah one credible government will do it. :pakistan:
