Don't you think we should have couple of these beasts ??

I do not think so. Our road communications are developed enough to take oversize loads. There is no need to have a beast like this for the sake of having one.

The ones in service most likely belong to a private company who leases this aircraft to customers.

We began with the Fairchild Packet & Dakota, moved to AN 12, then IL 76 now adding the US aircrafts discussed here.

These are sufficient for tactical & logistical needs.

Firstly I am not sure of the length of runway this aircraft needs and how many of the domestic ones meet this requirement.

Next , the load has to move forwards for which the raod & bridge network needs review.

Lastly & more imp do we actually need such a machine ..No.

We can always hire it if needed. Why own an Elephant when you can hire it at will when needed ?

Are u sure? I bet It would be younger brother of this machine AN125 . Myria is used to carry overweight cargos.. :P
